Ok, I need your opinion guys…because I am absolutely fuming. 🤬

I had this chap called Chris, from All Round Pressure Washing, back at the pub on Saturday…

I wasn't there to see him. I couldn't check on his work. And then I get sent THESE photos. 😱 (Look at the before and after!)

The absolute nerve of this guy:

👉 He charged me LESS than originally quoted.
👉 He came back on his day off just to finish the job properly.
👉 He’s been polite and friendly as f**k!

So now I’ve got a massive dilemma...

How am I supposed to maintain my reputation as The Grumpy Landlord when people are doing jobs this perfect? 🤷‍♂️

Written complaints are supposed to be my specialty! 😫

Seriously, look at that stone. My god does he deserve to do well after these results. 😍

As many of you know, our industry continues to face increasing costs and financial pressures.

3-4 pubs are now closing every single day!

A new nationwide campaign, backed by leading hospitality figures including Tom Kerridge, and of course The Grumpy Landlord, is calling on the Government to reduce VAT for hospitality businesses from 20% to 10%, bringing the UK more in line with many European countries.

This could make a significant difference to pubs, bars, restaurants, cafés and hotels across the country, helping to protect jobs, support investment and safeguard the future of our industry.

Huge thanks to Chris at All Round Pressure Washing for the complete overhaul of the pub’s exterior today! 🙌

The render has all been soft-washed, removing the last 4 years of weathering and bringing it back to its former glory! ✨

And the patio is being pressure washed this weekend too! 💦

The Hog is officially Summer Body ready! 🥳☀️

Ok, here goes…

Today didn’t go *exactly* as planned, and for that, we are incredibly sorry.

We know some of you waited a LOT longer than you should have for your food today.

It wasn’t the experience we want to give you, and we can only apologise again!

I promise you the team did everything they humanly could.

The kitchen was absolutely slammed, and Chef Cath was working in temperatures of over 50°C for most of the afternoon to get your meals out! 🌡️🥵🔥

We tried to smooth things over with free drinks where we could today, but we know your time is valuable and the waits were longer than is acceptable for some of you.

We’re taking today as a massive learning curve and are already looking at how we can adapt our setup for future heatwaves.

We’re just a bunch of humans who care passionately about this pub and our community! ❤️ We are tired, we are bloody hot, but we are so grateful for those of you who showed us patience today.

My phone and email are always open if you want to constructively discuss any feedback with me directly. 📲

And with all that said, I’m now off to sit in the walk-in freezer for the rest of the night! 👌😅❄️
