This pub is located near the top of Stroud high street and is one not to miss..in particular because of the bright red walls! Famous (apparently) for their squashed frogs shots and excellent salad dressing, the Retreat is a lovely pub for a drink! It is more like a winebar and has a friendly, trendy and relaxed atmosphere. The pub serves meals too and the salad dressing is definately worth a try (

with some salad of course!). If you are in Stroud, definately give the Retreat a go and if you are brave enough try a squashed frog!!

Sunday Chicken Roast 🐓

For the next few months we’ll be offering a lighter roast on a Sunday, its going to be a spatchcock chicken, some greens, spuds & a nice salad on the side.

It’s to share for x2 people - so get some mates together & come have a nice long lunch this Sunday. Wash it down with a few glasses of white - what an afternoon 👌

Tomorrow’s menu is all pretty light fare, with mostly salads or stuff on toast - there’s always a burger if that floats your boat.

We’ll be doing burgers until 6 tomorrow as it’s bank holiday.

Saturday, we’ll be serving food from 10am- 6pm then we’ve got Maxi Dread spinning vinyl from 8 til late

Sunday, will be serving food from 2pm onwards and we’ll have live music from The Unsual Suspects from 4pm - 7pm and from 7:30pm til late

May Bank Holiday

For the final May bank holiday we’ll be partying the weekend away with a line up of good music to either enjoy a catch up & drink with your mates - or get the shots in and party the night away.

On Saturday we’ll be running our food service until 6pm & DJ Maxi Dredd will be on the tunes from 8.

Sunday - we’ll have pizza from 2pm until early evening, with music in the afternoon from local band, The Unusual Suspects & then King Sonic from 7.30.

With the bank holiday atmosphere it always makes for a great atmosphere all afternoon into the evening & with plenty to eat, drink & listen to across the whole weekend there’s plenty of reason to drop in for a pint at some point 👍

Chicken Caesar is back on the menu for summer, grilled chicken breast, house made Caesar dressing, anchovies & bacon lardons.

As the weather hopefully gets brighter we will be adding a few more lighter options to our menu - always makes for a lovely lunch.
