This pub is located near the top of Stroud high street and is one not to miss..in particular because of the bright red walls! Famous (apparently) for their squashed frogs shots and excellent salad dressing, the Retreat is a lovely pub for a drink! It is more like a winebar and has a friendly, trendy and relaxed atmosphere. The pub serves meals too and the salad dressing is definately worth a try (with some salad of course!). If you are in Stroud, definately give the Retreat a go and if you are brave enough try a squashed frog!!

This Weekend - we’ve got a few new bits on the lunch menu….. pies coming next week.

On the bar we’ve got a new b**r from Verdant Brewing Co which is very hazy & particularly delicious. In terms of cocktails it’s Pisco sour’s all weekend.

Sat night - Johnny Connolly on the tunes, it will be wall-to-wall floor fillers!

HALLOWEEN- best night of the year, this time around it’s nightmare on church street theme - we’ll have Jonny on the tunes from 8.

We’ve got a late license for this one so will be open until 1am - go big on dressing up, we will be on the decorations 👻

September - what a blast, here’s a few action shots of day-to-day bar life. It feels like we crammed a whole year into one month.

We said good bye to Saskia after 12 beautiful months of having her show us all how to work at 100 miles an hour - you will be sorely missed my friend.

Plenty of great music nights & Sundays roasts, we’ve got a new chef in the kitchen (Sam) so hopefully we’ll be doing a few food nights before the end of the year.

October brings Halloween - going big as always 🎃

We’re open this weekend for Sunday roast. We’ll have beef, chicken and nut roast on the menu, all served with Yorkies, roasties, seasonal veg, cauli cheese and parsnip purée 😋

If you’re after something sweet we’ve got the classics for dessert, sticky toffee pudding and apple crumble with custard.

We’re right in the middle of town, with free parking at the short stay carpark on Sunday ✅

Booking is advised but we always save a bit of space for walk ins.

We made it into the CAMRA good b**r guide for the first time this year.

I always thought we were outside the scope of this sort of thing but turns out our consistency in pouring Bristol B**r Factory & Otter Brewery alongside a collection of good keg breweries both local & national does the trick.

I must say our ales are the only thing we’ve never touched in the time we been here & it was Ian who taught us everything about cellar management - cheers mucker 🙌

Hyped about returning to The Retreat Stroud next month for two reasons…

The first is, that this will be my first time spinnin’ records with my OG WAX partner DJ Ninja, in a very long time!

He is also one of most exceptional DJs I have ever DJ’d alongside & always forces me to step up my game!

The second is, every time I’ve spun records at The Retreat, it’s always been a great vibe!

Big shout out Ruby for making this happen!!!

We’ll be starting our Sunday roasts this weekend, the plan is to do x2 per month up until December.

So far we’ve got the dates below pencilled in. As we’re not open every Sunday we’re keen to make it a bit more of a fun occasion so stay tuned as we announce a few dates with music in the afternoon, because we do love a little boogie on a Sunday
