🎉This weekend we're opening the doors of one of our buildings and hosting a pop-up shop. The event will be running on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September from 10:00 – 16:00 each day.

👚The sale promises lots of great pre-loved bargains, including men's, women’s, and children’s clothes, toys, and bric-a-brac. All proceeds from the event will go to the charity, which provides mental health support across the whole county. Every penny spent will directly impact local people.

💜We are thrilled to launch our first pop-up shop of pre-loved items. We are using one of our buildings that is in a prime location at 38 Abbey Foregate. We know how important sustainability is, especially when it comes to clothing, so we asked our staff and volunteers to raid their wardrobes to put on this amazing event. So pop down and grab yourself a bargain and help us to support people who are experiencing mental health challenges.

📱If you need any more information about the pop-up shop, please call 01743 368 647.

💜‘Two Pound Tuesday’, where we are asking you to donate £2 to help us deliver support to people in Shropshire who are living with mental health challenges. At the heart of Shropshire Mental Health Support charity is a simple belief: no one should have to navigate their mental health struggles alone, and we need your help to do this!

Did you know…

🫖A £2 donation could pay for a cup of tea or coffee at our weekly Women’s Group. An established group of approx. 10-16 ladies who enjoy a start-of-session welcome chat and then a light-hearted activity that fosters connection and uplifting distraction.

💚We run 8 peer support groups weekly, from two walking groups, the allotment group, The Evergreens, Men and Women’s Groups, Crafty-Afty and a drop-in. Our peer-support groups are informal, welcoming environments where peers can meet, engage respectfully, and enjoy mutual company.

🔗Link in comments to donate or link in bio on Instagram. We recognise that some people aren't in a position to donate, so liking this post, commenting on it, sharing it or saving it is like donating money to the charity and helps us to reach more people.

💜We were grateful to be able to attend the Fizz and Canapés event held on Friday 04 September, where Shropshire Youth Theatre put on a charming production of scenes from Wind in the Willows in The Di**le. Jenny’s Catering provided the fizz and canapés, which were delicious. The event raised £660 for each of the Mayor’s four chosen charities: Shropshire Mental Health Support, Little Stars, Lingen Davies Cancer Fund, and Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation – a total of £2,640.

✨Meeting the other charities and learning more about the great work they do for our local community was truly inspiring.

🍽We can’t wait to see them at the Taste of Asia, which is the next fundraising event the Mayor is hosting. It is taking place at Smithy’s Bar, Shrewsbury Town Football Club, on Sunday 18 October from 12 pm to 6 pm.

🎉The event will celebrate the diverse flavours of Asia, with guests able to sample dishes from Thai, Vietnamese, Nepalese, Indian, Sri Lankan and Turkish cuisines.
Tickets cost £20 per person, including £10 of food and drink tokens, with profits supporting the Mayor’s four chosen charities.

🎫Tickets are available through the Shrewsbury Town Council website, with spaces limited and early booking encouraged.
