Let’s talk bookings…
We’ve been open 3½ years now, and up till this point we’ve just rolled with it when people don’t show. But times are tougher, costs keep climbing, and we’ve got to protect our little spot and the amazing team behind it.
Last Saturday we had 3 no-shows. One was a table of 6. We even rang them 10 minutes after their booking - they said “we’ll be there in 15”… then never showed. Don’t be that dick.
We’ve only got about 40 seats in here. When tables vanish, it knocks the whole night sideways - even if we squeeze a walk-in in later, the damage is done.
So from now on:
* 1–4 people → same as always, no changes.
* 5–8 people → you’ll pop in card details when booking. If you ghost us, it’s £5 a head.
* 9+ people → drop us an email. We’ll take a £10pp deposit (redeemable on the night) and a pre-order, so the kitchen can nail it.
We’re not doing this to be harsh - we’re doing it so Bird&Beer keeps buzzing, our crew stay looked after, and we can keep bringing you great food, drinks and vibes.
Most of you are absolute legends 🖤 This isn’t about you - it’s about covering ourselves when the odd one takes the p**s.
