A triple bill of three original acts. The Spirit Wagon, Gill, and Helen Polatajko, hosted by the previously mentioned Salopian Mixtape.

Plus entry is free as long as you’re in before 10pm, and the party doesn’t stop there because the acts are followed by a dj until 3am.

BANDS WANTED! BATTLE OF THE BANDS COMES TO SHREWSBURY!

Following the launch of our Battle of the Bands competition in Telford, we're bringing it to Albert's Shed Shrewsbury in January 2027!

We're looking for emerging original bands from Shrewsbury, Shropshire and the surrounding area who want to take their music to the next level.

16 BANDS. 4 HEATS. 1 GRAND FINAL.

Every band gets the chance to perform live, have their set filmed and compete through a combination of live audience and online voting, with a prize package designed to help the winning band develop.

THE DATES
Heats: 9, 16, 23 & 30 January 2027
Grand Final: 20 February 2027

APPLICATIONS OPEN SATURDAY 31 OCTOBER
Closing Sunday 29 November.

This spooky week at Albert’s Shed…

We’ve got a spectacular week lined up and fancy dress is encouraged!

Tuesday: Jam Night! Pete Prime is hosting again! Pete is full of energy and showmanship, and he’s keen to see as many people involved as possible. 8:30 and all musicians are invited.

Wednesday: GABBA GABBA HEY! A night of rock/punk/metal and all good gnarly alternative music, all coming at you curtesy of our DJ, That Basketball Guy! 10 (ish) until late.

Thursday: A double whammy night with live music and karaoke. FALSELIGHT with support from Raging Mabel’s from 7pm followed by karaoke with Pat as soon as the music is finished.

Friday: 3 amazing original acts. The Spirit Wagon, Gill, and Helen Polatajko, hosted by The Salopian Mixtape and entry is free as long as you’re in before 10pm.

Saturday: Halloween night itself! A four band line up of local legends all under one roof at once! Gauche, Boom Boom Womb, Dead Elvis, and A Pig Called Eggs! Dressing up is highly encouraged, music starts at 9 and will go on until very late!

Kicking off we have the incredible HELEN POLATAJKO with her folksy, indie, poetic charm. SPLENDID.

Next, we have a first time showing from Brum based postpunkyshoegazery types GILL who bring the brooding rawknroll. SPIFFING.

Headlining, we have those glorious, kaleidoscopic, psychedelic beauties THE SPIRIT WAGON who never fail to wow us mere mortals. TREMENDOUS.

lan Prowse & Amsterdam | November 13th 2026

Merseyside hero lan Prowse is a guitarist, singer-songwriter, and frontman of Amsterdam. Previously the frontman of indie cult band Pele.

Raised on protest songs, influenced by the Celtic sounds that make Liverpool so unique, and inspired by the song writing craftsmanship of Paul Weller, Mike Scott, Bruce Springsteen and Elvis Costello, lan's 30-year song writing career and 100% committed live shows have gathered him a reputation as the 'Scouse Springsteen' amongst his devoted fans.

Pete Williams and Andy Wellings | Friday November 20th

Pete Williams is a founding member of Dexys Midnight Runners playing on their number one single “Geno” and also being a pivotal force in their resurgence as Dexys.

Born to Black Country parents just inside a new decade, Pete Williams went to school, had a paper round, dreamed and played clarinet.

At age 14 he bought a bass guitar and was soon playing in various bands appearing in social clubs around the industrial West Midlands. Four years later he was invited by an old school friend to join a “new wave soul group” as yet unnamed, which later became DEXYS MIDNIGHT RUNNERS

GIG ANNOUNCEMENT | HUNZZ W/ ANNA SILVERS | NOVEMBER 6TH!

HUNZZ are coming to Albert’s Shed. The five piece have been touring around the uk, bouncing around the place like a pinball, and they’ve been taking their funk/jazz infused pop sound with them. We are lucky to be one of the stops and Albert recommends you come and see them now, as their trajectory is currently taking them to the moon and you might not get the chance again.

Anna Silvers on support. Shrewsbury’s very own, although she has flown the nest and now finds herself in Liverpool, Anna is a versatile musician that draws from Pop, Jazz, and Folk. On this visit Anna will be gifting us with a solo set and Albert can’t wait.
