Big things happening in Ashdon!
Ian and Tracy Holt, landlords of the Rose and Crown, are delighted to announce the upcoming launch of Ashdon Farm Shop at Crown Hill, opening late June or July. This new artisan venture is a collaboration alongside their wonderful chefs, Liam and Fran Grime.
Bringing a true field-to-fork experience to North Essex, the shop will showcase premium local provenance and chef-led culinary expertise. The kitchen team will be crafting handmade deli favourites fresh on-site, including quiches, scotch eggs, pies, and sausage rolls. Alongside these prepared treats, the shop has established partnerships with elite local suppliers, such as Priors Hall for fresh meat, complemented by seasonal fruit, vegetables, and quality dairy products.
Designed to be a community-centric space, the shop will also offer hot drinks, fresh sandwiches, and ice creams, perfectly catering to local commuters, home workers, and parents on the school run. The physical building itself is as environmentally conscious as it is striking, featuring traditional Essex Black wooden cladding and a full array of solar panels to power operations.

We want to serve Ashdon perfectly by pinpointing our premium opening times around your daily routines. While we are currently distributing paper questionnaires to diners at the Rose and Crown, you can also give us your feedback digitally. We want to know when you would visit, what you would like us to stock, and if you would utilise a twice-weekly pre-order service for fresh artisan bread. While we cannot accommodate every specific request, we are doing our absolute best to ensure our shelves reflect what the community needs.
