Pinch, punch, first of the month… and apparently the last day of sun. ☀️🌧️

The weather forecast seems to have looked out the window, seen us all enjoying ourselves, and immediately decided to put a stop to it.

So if this really is the last glimpse of sunshine before we return to the traditional British June experience of disappointment and damp socks, you know where to find us.

Cold drinks, sunny courtyard, great food and absolutely no judgement if you decide a rosé counts as hydration.

📢 IMPORTANT JUNE ANNOUNCEMENTS 📢

First up… Chef Dom is getting married.

That’s right ladies, after years of speculation, rumours, and what can only be described as alarming confidence levels, someone has finally agreed to marry him.

As this historic event takes place on Saturday 20th June, and the entire George team has somehow managed to secure an invite, the pub will be CLOSED for the day while we attend the wedding.

Mainly because we love Dom.

Partly because we’re all desperate to find out whether he’ll burst into flames the moment he sets foot in a church.

BUT…

To make up for it, we’re doing something a little different for Father’s Day on Sunday 21st June…

🥧 MANZE’S PIE & MASH DAY 🥧

No traditional roast. No fancy nonsense.

Just proper pie, mash, liquor, and yes… even jellied eels for the brave (or the dads we’re trying to get revenge on).

Treat Dad to a good old-fashioned East End feast, raise a glass to Dom’s survival, and find out whether he made it through the wedding in one piece.

Tonight’s the night 🇬🇷☀️🍹

For one night only, Zoe takes over the George with an evening of gorgeous Greek food, sunshine (yes, actual sunshine), cocktails and all the “this feels a bit like being on holiday” vibes we desperately needed.

Courtyard terrace, cold drinks, Mediterranean flavours and absolutely no washing up afterwards. Lovely stuff.

Greek Night returns to The George this Tuesday from 6pm and honestly, with this weather and the courtyard terrace looking the way it does right now, it’s giving very strong “somewhere on holiday with a cold drink” energy.

Yeeros. Halloumi. Tzatziki. Meze. All the good stuff.
