Spent the day in Leeds on a branding shoot with Charlotte from Newman Family Law, and this one was exactly the kind of session I love.

We mixed it up — some shots in the office catching her in her element, some outdoors for a different feel. That combination is genuinely my favourite for a client's website: it gives range, gives personality, and leaves you with a proper bank of images to pull from across social media for months, not just one stiff headshot.

Charlotte was brilliant to work with, and it was great collaborating alongside Scott from SOS Marketing, who built her a seriously good-looking website to go with it.

Comparison is the fastest way to kill your creativity.

Every time you scroll someone else's page and feel that little dip in your stomach, remember: they took years to get there. So will you, if you keep showing up.

This feeling that they'd figured out something I hadn't.

I've learned that feeling doesn't just pass. It quietly edits your decisions. You second-guess what you were proud of yesterday. You reach for what's working for someone else instead of finishing what's yours.

But! They didn't get there overnight — they just had a head start I couldn't see. I was comparing my behind-the-scenes to their highlight reel.

So if you're building something right now: your pace isn't a verdict on your potential. The only fair comparison is you six months ago versus you today.
