The Roebuck re-opened after an extensive refurb in 2013 but remains the heart and soul of the community, offering great drinks offers and the cheapest beer this side of town, food is offered 5 - 9 Wednesday to Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday and Friday night quirky quiz, live music Saturday, Pool & Darts, Theme Nights, Private Parties, Wii Nights, Karaoke are all offered, see our boards for more details. During the pandemic we have adapted the opening times inline with the government guidelines, Booking a table is also advisable and you must wear a mask at all times when moving around the venue. Opening times currently are 1pm to 10pm 7 days a week.

🖤 A Very Sad Farewell to One of Our Own 🖤

It is with the heaviest of hearts and great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Nathan, someone who will always be remembered as one of our own here at The Roebuck.

Nathan was a much loved member of our pool team and, for a short time, was also part of our kitchen team as our chef. He became a familiar and much loved face around the pub, and his passing has left a real sense of sadness amongst everyone who knew him.

Today, I had the great pleasure and privilege of meeting Nathan’s mum, Marilyn, who came into The Roebuck because she wanted to see the place that meant so much to her son. It was incredibly emotional hearing her talk about Nathan and just how fond he was of the pub, the people here and the friendships he had made.

Marilyn told me that Nathan’s sudden passing on 29th September came as an enormous shock to the whole family. Following just a short two week illness, Nathan was sadly diagnosed with mantle cell lymphoma. Tragically, there was so little time for everyone to come to terms with what was happening.

The family will be holding a private cremation here in the UK, after which Nathan will be taken home.

Sometimes, words simply aren’t enough. Losing someone so suddenly is heartbreaking, and our thoughts are very much with Marilyn, Nathan’s family and all his friends at this incredibly difficult time.

Nathan, you were one of our own, and you will never be forgotten.

Thank you for the memories, the laughter, the friendship and the time you shared with us.

Rest peacefully, my friend.

You will be missed more than you could ever know.
