Alan and Michelle welcome you to their award winning village inn. Built 250 years ago, it was extended to provide accommodation for travellers when the Severn and Wye Railway began operating passenger trains to Parkend in 1875. It is now the oldest surviving building in Parkend and the many photographs and artefacts which adorn our walls provide a fascinating insight into the history of village li

fe. Located close to the heart of the Forest, the inn makes an ideal base for sightseeing, mountain biking, or exploring some of the many peaceful forest walks nearby. The cycle centre is just a few miles away, while RSPB Nagshead and the northern terminus of the Dean Forest Steam Railway are both situated in the village itself. All seven guest rooms (including one specially adapted for the less-able) are en-suite, tastefully decorated and furnished, and have television and tea/coffee making facilities. Or, if you're just looking for a something to eat, come and choose from our extensive menu of homemade dishes. On Sundays, we also run a popular carvery from noon until 3pm.

On the 21st of June Alan & Michelle’s nephew Mark will be cycling 54 miles in the London to Brighton Bike Ride raising money for the MCA Trust🚲

The MCA Trust run events, education and activities for children and their families going through, and post cancer treatment.

We are beyond proud of Mark and would be so grateful to anyone who can donate to support this wonderful charity!✨

The London to Brighton Bike Ride is an iconic 54 mile cycle journey through the English countryside all the way down to the bright shores of Brighton. 97.6p in every £1 donated goes directly to the children and families we support - thank you.
