Yesterday we had the pleasure of hosting our local church’s Harvest Festival lunch.

Tables set, ploughman’s prepared & plenty of familiar faces coming together.

Well, our house b**r has only gone & done it again!

Huge congratulations to MoonGazer — Hare Today, our house bitter at The Shoulder of Mutton, has picked up Bronze at the SIBA East Independent B**r Awards 2026 for Best Bitter up to 4.4%.

& that makes it two awards this year, following its Bronze in the Norwich & District CAMRA Session Bitters earlier in 2026.

We already thought it was rather good… apparently the judges agree!

If you haven’t tried it yet, you know where to find it — permanently on the bar at The Mutton & The Wig & Pen.

Thank you to everyone who came along to Quiz Night last night!

You helped raise an amazing £180 for Smile Train, a charity supported by the late Mrs Elizabeth Cameron — a stalwart of our village & one of the Mutton’s biggest champions.

Every penny of that £180 came from your quiz entrance fees, so a huge thank you to you all.

Big thanks to our BFG for being a brilliant host 👂😂 and to **rfestivalkitchen & our team for keeping everyone fed & watered.

And huge congratulations to our winners, The Beech Drivers — Henry was very, very pleased! 😂
