The atmosphere is as traditional as the setting. Friendly staff behind the oak-topped bar, the day's newspapers on top of it. A welcoming fire and definitely no television, juke box or pool table. Next door is Woodforde's brewery. We serve their award winning ales straight from the cask. A great place just to come for a drink. But the Fur and Feather at Woodbastwick is probably defined by its food. Here the traditional meets the modern - whether you chose to eat in the restaurant, the bar or the large garden outside. Our chefs have built up a countywide reputation. Steak-and-kidney-pudding fans have been known to travel from as far away as Fakenham and Lowestoft after hearing about ours! It's traditional English fare all home-made, seasonal & local where possible. Expect to find liver and bacon, corned beef hash and treacle tart alongside confit of duck, steak & kidney pudding and baked vanilla pod cheesecake on the menu. There are always more than 20 main courses to choose from - including an innovative vegetarian selection. Priced between £5 and £12, we think they're great value. Our menus change regularly and our specials boards change daily. Wherever possible we use local suppliers. Coxford's Butchers at Aylsham, for example, make our half-pound burgers especially for us. It's all complimented with an exceptional wine list and nine of our wines are available by the glass.
