⚓🌊 ONE DAY TO GO! 🌊⚓

The Lowestoft Maritime Festival is TOMORROW! 🎉

And, somewhat inconveniently for our attempts to provide a truly authentic British maritime experience, the weather forecast has improved. ☀️

We can only apologise to anyone who was looking forward to standing beside historic vessels in driving rain, clutching a soggy burger while telling everyone “it’s actually not too bad once you’re wet.” 🌧️😂

Preparations are now well underway…

🚢 Lydia Eva is getting ready to leave Great Yarmouth and head for Lowestoft.

⚓ Mincarlo is being prepared for her visitors.

⛵ Excelsior is being readied too.

And all around the festival site, the final preparations are coming together.

After months of planning, organising, emailing, meetings and repeatedly checking weather forecasts we don’t really want to look at… we’re nearly there.

Come down and see us. And maybe bring a waterproof anyway — we don’t want the weather getting overconfident. 😂⚓

🌊 ONLY TWO DAYS TO GO! ⚓🎉

Lowestoft Maritime Festival is THIS SATURDAY! 🚤⛵️

Now, we have noticed the weather forecast is suggesting there might be a little rain… 🌧️

But look at it this way: we’re celebrating historic ships, lifeboats and the people who went to sea in them. It would seem slightly disrespectful if everyone stayed completely dry. 😂

Besides, these vessels have survived the North Sea for decades. We reckon the rest of us can survive a shower.

And, for anyone who thinks a little rain is too much to handle — our “lightweights” — there’s shelter in the Pavilion, at Fisherman’s Wharf and on the boats. We’re only joking, of course! 😉

So bring a coat, bring the family and come down to Bandstand Quay this Saturday for a brilliant day celebrating Lowestoft’s maritime heritage.
