Tucked away in the Cambridgeshire fens, The Merry Monk started life as three cottages in the 17th Century from there became The Red Lion Public House until 1992 when it was renamed The Merry Monk. With an ambience of roaring log fires for cosiness during the winter months with a garden rounding of a gorgeous country restaurant- perfection for enjoyment throughout the year. carte Menu drinks tea and coffee and of course a selection of Wine by the glass are all served throughout the day. Make the most of your week end by enjoying a traditional Sunday roast cooked to perfection by our team of chefs. The food we serve can be described as being the sort that you really want to eat, tempting but familiar with a slight twist. With his wife Michelle Adrian has set out to create the ultimate convivial restaurant with local seasonal food that welcomes the local community and visitors alike. I have tried to create an informal, comfortable and stylish atmosphere, at the same time ensuring that everything we offer is always of the highest quality and standard. No other business has ever given me so much pleasure as this one. Be it in the great buzzy atmosphere I think it is important for design to be accommodating, and for people to feel at ease rather than in awe. I love beautiful surroundings, but they must be practical. I want people to leave the restaurant that we have designed with fantastic memories! The atmosphere is hard to beat there is a roaring log fire on colder days and always an interesting mix of locals and visitors, so it is easy to make new friends too. On warmer days, head for the pretty garden and enjoy a cold beer or a glass of rose! If you wish to host a special event, be it a party, a private dinner, drinks reception, or to celebrate a wedding or birthday, here at the merry monk we can cater to your every need. The restaurant has a style and warmth that provides the ultimate ambience for business or pleasure.
