As some of you may be aware, at the beginning of the month, a burst pipe (or two) in the loft resulted in significant flooding and damage throughout the ground floor and upstairs in the pub. Sadly, now that we’ve had a drying out period, professional assessments and reports, it’s bad news regarding our reopening this year.
Best case scenario is a minimum of 8 weeks closed, possibly more, with the time taken to dry out, remove moisture, replace ceilings and flooring etc. and to redecorate. We must assume that it could be the beginning of April at best, until we start 2026.
A massive “thank you” to those who assisted on the day of the flood and to those who have offered their help and assistance. We’re blessed with a wonderful local community that we’re very much grateful for and we will repay that kindness by still making 2026 a wonderful year for the pub. Just slightly delayed!
Until then, we’re sincerely grateful to everyone for your continued support, understanding and patience and please know that we are doing everything we can to open ASAP. We truly cannot wait to welcome everyone back again.
Thank you.
