Lovely to have a bit of sunshine to start off the weekend!

Starting with a new release, today is the launch of DEYA Brewery’s two New Zealand versions of Steady Rolling Man using freshly harvested hops - one with Nelson Sauvin and one with Motueka. Both pouring side by side now.

A favourite wine is back by the glass from Christina Netzl - her chilled Zweigelt is pure summer in a glass! Juicy red cherry & watermelon notes with delicate violet aromas.

Fresh sausage rolls from Great Northern Provisions as always to keep us going, along with Steak & Ale and Chickpea Spinach Jalfrezi pies over the weekend.

Speaking of this weekend; we’ll be open a little later on Saturday & Sunday at 2pm on both days. Apologies for any inconvenience!

Garage Project!

A lovely little selection has landed all the way from Wellington, New Zealand. Showcasing a variety of styles from their Wild Workshop, famous pickle sours and a few hop forward IPAs. Very excited to have these in our fridge from one of our all time favourites 🇳🇿

What a day for a crisp wine or a frothy pint to start off the long weekend!

Some favourite refreshers on by the glass including the return of the delicious and aptly named chilled cuvée Crush. Matt Gregory in Leicestershire has also produced a beautiful pale rosé ‘Coral’ - hedgerow fruit aromas, fresh tart fruit notes with a dry, mineral finish - all coming in at 8.5%. Pouring all weekend!

Speaking of refreshment; has every mood covered with their Sicilian Lemon Radler or the crisp, dry bitterness of their West Coast Pilsner.

Hours are as usual across the weekend, plus open Monday 1pm-6pm.

We will be kicking off the Easter weekend this year with a little brewery showcase from Fourman - the new small batch brewing project from Robin Head-Fourman; formerly of Burning Sky, and more recently head brewer at Beak.

Robin has set up Fourman underneath the recently reopened Trevor Arms in Glynde, East Sussex, delivering high quality, balanced beers in limited quantities, with a focus on small USA & NZ hop producers.

Beers pouring from open on Thursday the 2nd, see you then!

Every year to celebrate International Women’s Day we donate a portion of our proceeds to a local Gateshead women’s charity. This year is extra special as Alice helped to brew the IWD beer!

and invited us along to the brewery along with a team of other women in hospitality across the region, to create Daughters of Simcoe; a sessionable, hazy, citrusy pale ale. Thankfully the weather is nicer now for drinking it than it was on the brew day!

All proceeds from our keg will be going to Young Women’s Outreach Project , who do really important work helping young women & mothers overcome complex social & domestic issues in our region.

Alongside that, all proceeds from can sales will be going straight back to , a brilliant local project dedicated to supporting & celebrating women in the hospitality industry.

Another something special joining the taps this sunny afternoon! have collaborated with to create Veer; a beautiful beer-wine blend.

A barrel of Matt Gregory’s 2022 red field blend was blended with 18 month old Balance barrels, and aged for 6 months to allow the two to meld together.

This is one that will please drinkers of juicy, chilled red wines and mixed fermentation ales alike. Tannic and effervescent with aromas of cherry and notes of blackberry, thyme and spice. Perfect in this well-timed spring sunshine. Pouring on tap, with bottles also available!

A lovely list of wines for the weekend!

The newest iteration of ’s house white blend Vater & Sohn is tasting delicious; as is ’s Lanterns orange. Tannic, spicy and full of stone fruit & citrus peel flavours. Plenty of styles pouring to suit whatever you fancy, as always.

A reminder that we are unfortunately closed tomorrow, Sunday 1st March. Back open Wednesday as usual.
