The Under Ground Theatre is now based at The Venton Centre, Junction Road, Eastbourne, BN21 3QY. Eastbourne, BN21 3QY in April 2023.

The Under Ground Theatre (Eastbourne) CIC moved to the current venue at The Venton Centre, Junction Road. The Under Ground Theatre (UGT) is a 100 seat venue which is open to all members of the public during events. Our regular, weekly, free Saturday morning concerts (10.00 am – 12.00 noon) are very popular and teas/coffees/biscuits are available for just £1.00. The UGT is run entirely by voluntee

rs and the Saturday morning musicians/performers volunteer their talents free of charge. We provide a safe, friendly, warm welcome to our events in a temperature controlled, air conditioned auditorium to ensure a comfortable environment. The premises have disabled access and facilities. Donations are appreciated to keep this event operating. Facilities

We are fully licensed and insured and run a licensed bar at our evening events. We provide mics, stands, monitors, music stands and staging for performers in addition to a full P.A. system with digital sound desk, video recording and stage lighting manned by a ‘tech team’ who produce quality sound and video productions. We also have a Yamaha Clavinova piano available for performances.

Talented musician Mel Hayes is with us this Saturday morning. Mel is an amazing singer/guitarist and an engaging performer who plays across the Eastbourne area. Mel will be playing favourite songs from her extensive repertoire of Pop and Country music chart topping hits.

Four Gone Confusion will be on stage at the UGT this Saturday morning at the UGT, John and Di Cullen, Pete and Brenda are stalwarts of the folk scene and regulars at Folk Festivals and clubs around the country. Traditional folk and contemporary music enveloped in wit and humour.

We are delighted to have the Terry Lees Guitar Extravaganza at the UGT this Saturday morning. Former Acoustic Guitarist of the Year Terry Lees performs with special guest guitarists, Nigel Wesson, Paul Watson, Abi Feldwick and Ian Chisholm. A rare chance to see talented musicians, playing classic guitar tracks from the decades.

Seasoned ukulele band Seaford Sunshine Strummers open the show next Saturday morning at the UGT with their s own style of 60s and 70’s favourites. In the second session we have favourite singer/guitarist and pianist Phillip Robbins, Phillip has a broad repertoire of popular songs from the last 50 years including Stage, Pop and Folk.

The Other Band is back with us this Saturday morning. Rollicking repertoire of Americana, country, blues and R&B. Mandolin player/guitarist Julian Graff and singer/guitarist Lee Hill fronts the band with powerful vocals harmonies & solos. Joined by Stuart Alexander on accordion & vocals.

Debut performance this Saturday morning at the UGT with ‘Double D.’ Acoustics guitarists Dave McQuillian & Derrick Walmsley (percussion) perform an eclectic mix of popular songs and heartfelt ballads. In the second session we have singer-songwriter/guitarist Paul Henson bringing a ‘mixed bag’ of acoustic songs from across the decades from Motown to Folk.

Accomplished guitar and vocal duo Cadence Purl will be with us this Saturday Morning, Maria Bligh and David Brown play notable pop and country hits from the decades including some Simon and Garfunkel. In the second session we have the hugely talented, top ten nominated UK nominated Blues Artist 2025, Neil Grove. Exceptional, astonishing blues guitarist recreating the early blues.

In the second session Kevin will be joined by his musical partner, the exceptional Mark Taylor (guitar and vocals) performing an eclectic range of roots music, bluegrass rhythms, tinged with elements of folk, blues and Celtic music.
