Statement from The Fox Freehouse

We want to address the post we shared earlier today regarding Matt Morris. Despite carrying out all the checks available to us, we were completely unaware of Matt’s past until after our social media announcement. As soon as this information was brought to our attention, we acted immediately.

Matt Morris will not be joining our team at The Fox. As a parent of a teenage daughter, I was personally disgusted to learn of his history, and we absolutely condemn his past actions. We are truly sorry for any distress this may have caused within our community.

Thank you to those who contacted us so quickly — your vigilance and care mean a great deal.

In the meantime, James will be staying on with us a little longer while we continue our search for a new Head Chef. We appreciate your understanding and support, and we look forward to welcoming you back to The Fox soon.

What an atmosphere we had last night — full pub, full hearts… and yes, full despair at that result.
