See you this evening!

Evening,

This Friday will see my first of two days in Cambridge, a historic university city world-famous for the University of Cambridge, its beautiful college buildings, and punting along the River Cam.

I’ll be visiting a number of micropubs, pubs and breweries throughout the day to see what the city has to offer.

If I’m planning to pop in and visit you, I’d really appreciate a share of this post!

It's Tap Takeover day and this month we have the amazing .

So far Sophie's favourite is the Zozobra pale ale and Kieran favours the Balderdash impy stout! But trust us when we say they're all very good!

Nelly and Bella are perched up hoping someone will use their thumbs to open the mason jar of dog treats! Come and say hello!

WEDNESDAY APRIL 1ST...

I am BACK in CAMBRIDGE!!!

Really looking forward to this one after only one day out in the city previously so plenty to go at! What are the MUST VISIT PUBS for me to get to this time around in Cambridge??

Today we went to our old pal's brewery to make another beer! We always love visiting , they make sure we are well watered and fed, AND there are alpacas and goats and such next door AANNND we got to use the pressure washer! What a day!

This time we helped make a lovely west coast IPA with Galaxy and Nelson Sauvin hops. We added loads of larger malt for that crisp clean bill, as well as a few oats and chit for a roundness and a gorgeous mouthfeel. It should sit around 5.5%, we can't wait to taste it!

I think we landed on the name Beetle in a Box after a lovely story Sophie's Nan told her about an interesting character she once met, whose only friend was a beetle in a matchbox.

So, when it's ready, you can bring all your friends, and they can bring all their friends, and we'll all drink pints, or thimbles full of delicious beer!!

Ps. Please do not keep beetles in boxes, and definitely do not feed them beer.

It's March! The daffodils are blooming, the sun is daring to rear It's head, and we are nearly ready to put the garden back together, so watch this space.

As always, we have loads of events coming up, live music, to drag nights, and all the usual suspects.

Our quiz is every Wednesday, tables booked from 7:30pm. If you'd like to book a table, for the quiz or otherwise email [email protected]

Here are a few snaps from our staff party last month! It was so nice to have everyone together from here and as well as the lovely !

Thank you to Edgar and Max for covering for us. It was wonderful having you guys back for the evening! Absolute heroes!

Thanks to Terri and Jethro for organising and looking after us all, and congratulations to Terri on her retirement!

Everyone knows how amazing our staff are, but let's say it again! Thank you so much to everyone on our team for all the hard work you put in all year round. I'm so incredibly proud of all of you. The late nights, the loud music, and the drunk nonsense we all deal with! You guys are the best, and it was so amazing to drink and be merry with (nearly) all of you!

Happy February! We have most of the usual monthly suspects, here are a few special mentions though.

Kicking off this month today we have so come down and learn to make your own zine!

The we have some live music on Tuesday with the amazing , get yourself a ticket, you won't regret it!

On Thursday we have our first tap takeover of the year with the wonderful , we've wanted to do one with these guys for ages, but previously didn't have enough beer to fill all 10 keg lines. That has all changed!!

We are SUPER excited for on the 13th, please make sure you're here for this absolute powerhouse!

And is back on the 29th! We absolutely love this q***r comedy night, and just know you will too! So get yourselves down here.

We'll always advise grabbing a ticket in advance where you can!

And just like that, another year has passed. Hello 2026!

We hope you all had a beautiful festive season. We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came to ring in the new year with us, we raised so much money for and !

Thank you to our incredible bar team, (somehow Jacques escaped the lens, so he can have his very own shout out!) who worked last night, and the ones that didn't. Without your dedication, we wouldn't be the pub that we are. You're all such lovely human beings and we are so proud to know and work alongside you!

Thank you to all the amazing people that put on shows, and the tech wizards that facilitate them.

Thanks to all the breweries making good beer and the people pestering (no honestly), delivering, and ensuring we are serving it.

Thanks to everyone at (even though they are jammy gits who have closed for ages) who keep making lovely pizzas for all of us.

Big thank you to Asad, our cleaner who comes in every morning to wash away our sins. Whether you're a drag queen with fake blood or a confetti cannon, or someone that loves shredding bar mats, please spare a thought for him.

Thanks to all of you, who come out and drink with us throughout the year, whether you're drinking alcohol or not. It never ceases to amaze me how wonderful our customers are and what a gorgeous community we have.

I want to say a special thank you to Josh and Thorn who spent another NYE running the Karaoke, they are also the talented folk behind who designed our shirts, posters (which I swear will come out soon!) and logos. They understand what is we do, and we are so grateful to have them as part of The Blue Moon fam.
