Kicking off the ninth season of Blaxhall Sessions - First Class Folk in a small but perfectly formed village hall - we look forward to welcoming NANCY KERR and JAMES FAGAN, one of the most beloved and enduring acts in British folk.

Twice Winners of “Best Duo” at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, they combine stunning vocals and stellar instrumentation on fiddle, guitar and bouzouki with Nancy’s insightful and poetic lyrics.

The couple have brought joy, inspiration and some memorably energetic arrangements to global audiences since their fortuitous meeting in 1995.

“Nearly there…” said the Shopping Centaur.

“Me? I like the rain!” said the Whale.

Only a few bits left to clear before the clouds open and we leave Sotterley Estate to rest and recuperate. As usual, the site has been left beautifully clean - thank you for your respect and consideration of our surroundings, as always but especially given this year’s extra precautions.

Meanwhile… the washing, packing up and stowing away continues, whilst preparations for 2027 begin!

A huge heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone involved in FolkEast 2026. You know who you are… crew, artists, stall holders, stewards and of course especially you wonderful festival goers.. as an independent festival, Folkeast simply wouldn’t exist without you!

Year after year we are blown away by the support and feedback from everyone. Please know that we have loved every second just as much as you and although we are enjoying a lot more rest now, we are so sad the weekend had to come to an end.

Please do share photos and videos you have of your favourite parts of your festival experience - comments via our Facebook posts are probably the best way, or via direct message. We will enjoy looking at them and sharing where we can.

There will be talk in years to come of the time Luke Wallace massed a festival choir and invited EVERYONE on to the Sunset Stage at FolkEast. A hugely memorable moment for all involved - thank you Luke for your songs and inspiration and for being a wonderful part of this year’s festival.
