🐾 Dogs & muddy boots welcome The pub in South Stoke village near Bath was closed and left empty four years ago; now the owner has agreed to sell; our community-based company has exchanged contracts with the owner with completion due in September 2016, subject to a successful fundraising campaign; we need to raise £525,000 to buy the pub and then some more for refurbishment and plan to raise the money through selling shares to the people of South Stoke, Bath and beyond.

🧶 KNIT & NEEDLE - Tuesday 8th & Tuesday 29th September | 6.30–8.30pm
Bring your current project and join us upstairs for a relaxed, sociable evening of crafting. Beginners welcome, with support available!

🇬🇷 GO GREEK FOOD TRUCK - Tuesday 8th September | From 5.30pm
Greek goodness rolling into the car park for the evening. Come hungry!

🎶 PURPLE PONY CLUB - Thursday 11th September | 8pm
Our monthly residency music night, hosted by Drew Neirin. Expect 5–7 artists per session, covering loads of different genres. A brilliant night out — and completely FREE!

🧠 PACKHORSE QUIZ NIGHT - Tuesday 15th September | 8pm
A fun night of trivia, good company and great prizes!

We’re delighted to welcome back the hugely talented Matt Owens to play for us tomorrow (bank holiday Monday)
3pm to 5pm.

A founding member of Noah and the Whale, Matt spent the first decade of his music career touring the world and selling over a million albums in the UK with the folk-indie band. He’s just about to head off on tour again, but has managed to squeeze in a gig with us first!

Opening hours are 12pm to 6pm, with the Loaded Bites food van here from 12pm to 4pm.

Today is the day… 🎉 🎶 🍻
Join us for a full afternoon of live music, BBQ and all the good-time summer vibes at our End of Summer Party!

🎶 Live music from 1pm–7pm:Music Running Order:

1pm - Georgie B Quartet - A local folk and blues group. Having played and sung together in various settings, they bring a mix of genres and experience to their music.

2pm - Trash Springfield - A singer-songwriter with sharp lyrics, catchy tunes and influences ranging from Bob Dylan, Kate Bush, Tim Buckley to Pavement and John Prine. We’re excited to welcome Trash for her debut at The Packhorse!

3.15pm - Jonny Melancholy and the Sad Cowboys - Perfect for hoedowns and riding into the sunset, bar-room ballads and toe-tapping classics, Johnnie Melancholy and the Sad Cowboys bring music full of passion and craft for dancers, singers and drinkers.

4.30pm - Rich and Lou - Fast becoming a Packhorse favourite, Rich and Lou cover songs from the 60’s to modern day classics. Performing stripped back versions of songs you know and love, they create a big sound using guitar, cajon and soulful harmonies.

5.45m The Howsers - To close out the day in style, we’re delighted to welcome back The Howsers! This local four-piece brings infectious energy and a signature blend of good-time rock and blues. Get ready to dance the evening away!

It’s Thursday, which means it’s PIE NIGHT at The Packhorse!
The long weekend is upon us, signs of autumn are sneaking in and our delicious homemade pie and a pint is just £20 every Thursday from 6pm…

So come and settle in, get cosy and enjoy a proper pub night with us.
