The pub in South Stoke village near Bath was closed and left empty four years ago; now the owner has agreed to sell; our community-based company has exchanged contracts with the owner with completion due in September 2016, subject to a successful fundraising campaign; we need to raise £525,000 to buy the pub and then some more for refurbishment and plan to raise the money through selling shares to the people of South Stoke, Bath and beyond.

Reminiscing the great summer of May 2026!

The Packhorse Garden elves have been hard at work over the darker months, getting ready for a wonderful summer of fun with friends, music and great food & drink!

When people see Keg Run Day, they see the fun, the atmosphere, the fancy dress, the crowds and the chaos. 🍻🏃‍♂️

What they don’t always see are the meetings, planning sessions, spreadsheets, route discussions, logistics and countless hours that happen behind the scenes to make it all possible.

Our core team of around 8 volunteers have been hard at work preparing for this year’s event, and on the day itself we’ll have more than 30 amazing volunteers helping everything run smoothly.

Last year’s Keg Run was incredible, and thanks to your support we’re making this year’s event even bigger and better. That means a little more preparation for our fantastic team!

A huge thank you to everyone putting the work in behind the scenes. We couldn’t do it without you. 👏

We can’t wait to welcome you all for another unforgettable day. 🍻❤️

Creating content at The Packhorse is definitely a team effort... although some members of the team are more cooperative than others… 👨‍🍳

When the camera comes out, some are ready for action... while others suddenly become very busy looking for where it says “content creator” in their job description.

Not that the forecast is looking like we’ll be making much use of it this week…

Still, it’s nice to know our beer garden has been recognised as one of the Top 20 Beer Gardens in Somerset!

Whether it’s sunshine and pints, long lunches with friends, or lazy afternoons soaking up the countryside views, our fabulous garden is ready and waiting for when summer decides to make a comeback. ☀️

Until then, we’ll be keeping the drinks flowing and the welcome warm inside!
