Ignore the weather!

The repairs and improvements that we started back in April are nearing the end!

1. Even in the wet, the timbers, gable ends and roofline are atmospheric!
2. Final measurements for the handmade replacement cellar door are being taken today.
3. Not a handrail in the way you think…
4. …but a guide rail to protect our front wall from the big wheelie bins of neighbouring businesses. It’ll be painted along with the wall as soon as the weather allows.
5. Inside, newly exposed medieval walls are being treated with a clear sealant to stop dust and protect the brickwork. You can see this wall on one of our King’s Head tours.
6. Book a tour here—only three tours left this year.

Christmas Pudding making time!

We’re busy even when we aren’t open, making Chiltern Brewery Lord-Lieutenant’s Porter Christmas Puddings with that very special hearty glug of Lord-Lieutenant’s Cream Porter.

Available soon from The Chiltern Brewery shop and online.

The northerly wind is bringing chillier weather. 💨

🍁🍂 The leaves are starting to change colour, bringing the autumn palette. Everyone has a favourite season, but I think the weeks where summer yields to autumn is almost worthy of being a season on its own.

Cheers to the new season—new palettes and new palate in our b**rs as we travel autumn-ward! See our current Chiltern Brewery b**rs on the bar now.

Wow!

What an evening it was and what an honour to be the evening get-together for the top tetrahand surgeons, clinicians and researchers from around the world on Monday.

Such amazing people to meet, and some amazing stories too, and such valuable work that is bringing the medical world together to learn of new ways to help in specialised surgery in such cases.

We’re really proud to have hosted and served 150-200 guests with a hot buffet and drinks. And thankfully the weather was so good the courtyard was a fabulous area for everyone to mingle and meet each other!

I was even able to do a few impromptu tours to show some of our history and rooms to guests from Kenya, Switzerland, Brazil, USA, Germany and the UK!

Happy Friday!

We’re open for coffees and breakfasts in our Gt Hall now.

We’ll have fine Chiltern Brewery b**rs on tap in the Farmers’ Bar and Gt Hall from 11am and food from 12pm.

And it’s another sunny day, so you can enjoy a coffee, breakfast, b**r and lunch in an ancient, calm corner of our courtyard, yet still be in the very beating heart of Aylesbury!

And tomorrow is the weekend — does it get any better than this!?
