Dear Wingrave,

Unfortunately, I have had to make a very difficult decision to close the Rose and Crown. This was made at 14:30 yesterday after a conversation with the brewery. I didn't want to close before last night after the effort that was put in. I have tried to remain trading despite the rising costs, but unfortunately, this is now a decision I am forced to make. The last trading day trading was last night!! I found this incredibly hard but didn't wish to spoil it.
Fair, well, event possible.

I have personally paid out of my pocket to keep the pub in Wingrave going over the last few months. It is not financially possible to continue without additional support.

As most of you are aware, this was not the path i thought my life in Wingrave would take when i first took the pub on last year. Our future was Wingrave. Unfortunately, significant personal issues that have played out in public and continue to remain in discussion further confirm that it's time to move forward.

I'd like to thank those who have supported me throughout the last year. From our fabulous regulars and loyal customers, you have made Wingrave overall, a wonderful community to live in.

I also want to take the time to thank those who have given up their free time to help me run my business. I am so incredibly grateful for you all and for the work that goes on behind the scenes here in and out of hours. This is something that many aren't aware of.

Last but never least, the amazing employees of the Rose and Crown. I could not have done it without you. You are the most hard-working and incredible team. Thank you for your ongoing support and smiling faces ready to greet our customers when they walk through the door.

Having run several successful pubs and businesses, this is not the decision i was intending to make. However, times are challenging, and unfortunately, as of late, this is the reality for many hospitality businesses.

I wish the pub the very best for the future. This beautiful village deserves an incredible pub to go alongside it.

A very good morning Wingrave.

We are open from 12 today and food service stops at 15:30.

We are open for lunch today, from 12:00 - 14:45
We will be serving jacket potato's sandwiches and chips.

Tonight, we will be a mains menu.
This will be served between
18:00-20:30 last orders (for food).

Sunday (tomorrow), we will be serving a mains menu alongside sandwiches and jacket potatoes.

After continuing discussions with the brewery. We have agreed to open on a reduced hours basis.

Thursday and Friday open from 5 until close after 10pm if we are not busy, we will be closing early.

Sat and Sunday we will be open from 11am. Until close same hours apply.

With rising costs, I have sadly had to make this decision to ensure we can continue to remain open.

We intend to open for the over 60s lunch next week.

We are very excited to wish this fabulous lady a goodbye.

Free Buffet and music from 19:00 until late.

This will be inside, so noise on the green will be kept to a minimum. 🙏
