The Poolewe Cèilidh Partnership The Poolewe Cèilidh Partnership (P.C.P.) http://pooleweceilidhnights.org/ Our ceilidhs are not licensed, but you are welcome to bring your own wine or beer.

is a group of volunteers who run a series of cèilidh dances throughout the summer each year to promote traditional music and fundraise for local good causes. Our series of traditional ceilidhs run throughout the summer each year in Poolewe on Scotland's North-West coast. A ceilidh (pronounced kay-lee) is a social gathering, with song, dance, tunes and stories, and a drink and bite to eat. The Poolewe Ceilidh Partnership was founded in 2007, and in 2008 we were delighted to be awarded the coveted Highlands and Islands Tourism Award for Community Tourism. Our ceilidhs feature a superb visiting Scottish traditional band, joined by local pipers, singers, dancers and instrumentalists. There is a chance to join in with the dances, and a caller and volunteer partners are ready to help if you don’t know the dances. If you prefer, you can just sit and watch the dancers and listen to the musicians and enjoy the craic. During the interval, you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and some home-baking, all included in the admission price. Soft drinks are available to purchase. There will also be a raffle in aid of a local good cause. Our ceilidhs are suitable for all ages, and we have good access and toilets for disabled visitors. Some comments from our visitor's book:
“A great night, one of the highlights of the holiday.”
“Our first ceilidh and hopefully not our last! Thoroughly enjoying the tradition and glad to see the youngsters are too.”
“What a good idea, locals and visitors together. Excellent evening!”
“Loved the family friendly atmosphere, great dancers and community spirit.”

Have you ever wondered what happens to make the summer cèilidhs possible? We are a small committee but we make up for it. Here is the process leading up to the night of a summer ceilidh. ☀️

We have been enjoying looking back at videos from the summer, among them are some great Piping! ☀️

We can’t thank Ben enough for the last 3 years of piping, we have watched his talent grow and become even more impressive every year. 🎵

We would like to show appreciation for his work over the last few years by showing you all some of his amazing music. (He has also become quite good at managing to avoid the bunting as he exited the hall 😆)

All the best to Ben as he takes his next adventure away to University, we know he’ll be back and there will always be a spot for him at the Poolewe Cèilidhs ☺️

Did anybody loose a wee gold hoop earring at the last ceilidh? It is about the size of a penny.

Well folks, we have to say we are definitely missing the cèilidhs! 😢

We had an outstanding season this year, we have all of you to thank for that. Whether it’s visitors finding us for the first time or returning holidaymakers or our very loyal local crowd, you supported us and have done for the last 4 years, for that we can only thank you all! ❤️

We have a lot to share with you over the next few months, so much we never got to share through the season so we will take this quieter time to give you a sneak peak! 👀

Before we move on to exciting things, we have to thank a few people for the efforts this year in helping, donating, performing and just being there! ☺️

Firstly, Ben for some amazing piping which we will share more of the next couple of weeks, Peter and Janet who donated a mountain of raffle prizes through the last 4 seasons. We have so much appreciation for those prizes (we do hope we never see those sharks again 😆)
Amelie, she came along and helped the charities and offered an extra pair of hands exactly where they were needed! ☺️ Jim for his battles with our advertisement flag, we definitely didn’t envy him, especially in wind and rain! 🙏 Our champion of putting chairs away, Mort, he has also proven to be a good welcomer for the bands as he gets them chatting! 😁 Finally we have to thank Hope as she came along and played her accordion, she did an fantastic job and we can’t wait to see her again next year 🤞

So many more to be thanked, so again thank you to everyone who lends us a hand, it doesn’t go unnoticed ☺️

On that note, some exciting news… 🫣
For anyone who hasn’t seen yet this week, we have been lucky enough to have been featured in the Gairloch & District Times, if you would like to know about our part in reviving the Poolewe Cèilidh Partnership and our achievements over the last 4 years, please do check it out! 😁

A massive thank you to the Poolewe Swimming Pool team, they made an incredible selection of food and a wonderful raffle. 🏊‍♂️

We also have to recognise the amazing piping by Ben through the evening! He never fails to amaze us all ☺️

Unfortunately there’s no ‘poster for next week’ but we do have so much in the works for the next few months! We will return on 1st of January for our 2027 New Year Cèilidh! Be sure to also check out all of our social media as we will be continuing to post from our summer videos and updating you with our plans!
