A Paloma with a little bite. Beudi agave, pepperberry and grapefruit cordial, fresh lime and grapefruit soda. Bright and citrusy at first, with a slow pepperberry heat that likes to sneak up on you.

From the early 1960s, Les Girls lit up Darlinghurst Road with feathers, sequins, sky-high wigs and some of the most fabulous performers Sydney had ever seen.

What started as a risqué night out became a Kings Cross institution, drawing locals, tourists and international visitors to the Strip. Carlotta became its famous compère and star attraction, while Les Girls helped bring drag and transgender performers out of the shadows and onto one of Sydney’s most famous stages.

For three decades, the show was part of the fabric of the Cross. Glamorous, provocative, occasionally scandalous and never particularly interested in an early night.

Join Brandon and Duncan this Sunday as they uncover the disturbing story of Ashley Coulston, a convicted triple murderer once dubbed by police as “possibly one of the most dangerous Australia has ever had”.

Before his crimes made headlines, Coulston became briefly known as “Captain Bathtub” after attempting to cross the Tasman in a tiny boat. Years later, he was convicted of a brutal Melbourne triple murder and has since been linked to a string of unsolved murders and sexual assaults across Australia.
