Braida is an incredibly renowned Italian wine producer, widely celebrated for its exceptional wines. Giacomo Bologna, the founder of the winery, is praised as a visionary who brought significant changes to the way Barbera wine is produced in Italy. His groundbreaking ideas and innovations brought Piedmont into the modern era, and his famous “Bricco dell’Uccellone” wine has become a symbol of Italian excellence.

Braida is the dream of Giacomo Bologna (Build a large, spacious, well-ventilated cellar / and brighten it up with lots of beautiful bottles, / some standing, some lying down, / to be considered with a friendly eye in the evenings of / Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, / sneering at the thought / of that man without songs and sounds, / without women and without wine, / who should live about ten years longer than you) that Raffaella and Giuseppe, with hard work and dedication, have made into a solid, happy and beloved reality.

Meet the excellence of Paarl at The Wine Hive.
Brookdale Estate is the pinnacle of the Rudd family’s passions. Here, Mediterranean varietals, a unique Paarl terroir and unusual winemaking techniques are brought together under the visionary hand of owner, Tim Rudd and winemaker at the time, Kiara Scott Farmer. The first step in this vision – produce fine and interesting wine blends using unusual varietals in a South African context. Before vines could be planted, 67 hectares of alien vegetation and overgrown vines had to be cleared in order to restore balance to the land. Indigenous vegetation and gardens were created in abundance alongside new, thoughtfully planted.

The incredible voice of Rachelle Kruger made of Valentine’s Day at The Wine Hive a memorable one to all guests. An evening filled with love, wine, food and live music. Besides Rachelle, we had another “special guest”, working behind scenes. Enrico, owner and master mind behind Pizza Connection in Woodstock, recently rated between the best Pizzeria in world by TimeOUT, joined us for the night. Stay tuned… we will have some news soon!

We all love wine and we all love music, but do you know that music can affect the way we taste a wine?
On Valentine’s day we will combine an amazing voice to some of the most interesting wines, in a waltz of senses.

Rachelle Kruger, a multi-talented entertainer, who’s career spans from leading musical theatre roles, TV appearances, international tours as a cruise ship Vocal Captain, Deputy Entertainment Manager to being an award-winning graduate of the Waterfront Theatre School, will join us for the evening.

Every song, will be paired to a wine in a sensory experience, a complex and profound tasting. And, of course, it is not an Italian experience if there isn’t food involved. Join us for wine, music, food - under the stars celebrating love.

Price is all inclusive. R900/pp
