Every Auction wine starts with a place. But it is the winemaker who decides where to take it. 🍷
A vineyard planted generations ago. A maiden Guild vintage. A blend that captures a particular corner of the Cape. A wine shaped by decades of experience, or an idea a winemaker has been waiting to explore.

Each tells a different story.

And that is part of what makes the Cape Winemakers Guild Auction collection so remarkable: these wines are personal expressions of the people who make them, produced in small quantities and selected exclusively for the Auction.
Swipe to meet some of the winemakers and discover the stories, vineyards and decisions behind their 2026 Auction wines.
The winemakers. Their wines. Their stories.

By the time a wine becomes a lot number at the Cape Winemakers Guild Auction, much of its story has already been written.

It began in the vineyard. In the decisions made through a particular growing season and vintage. In the cellar, through countless small choices, tastings and moments of instinct. It was shaped by the hands and experience of a winemaker who chose to make something they believed worthy of the Guild, produced in small quantities and exclusively for the Auction.

And eventually, that story arrives in a bottle.
A bottle becomes a lot.
And a lot finds its next custodian.

It begins long before the bidding does.

One room. Exceptional wines. And the people behind them. 🍷
Our Johannesburg Masterclass was about more than what was in the glass. It was a chance to slow down, taste together, ask questions and hear the stories behind the wines directly from the winemakers who made them.

From conversations around vintage and place to the craftsmanship and decisions that shape each bottle, every pour offered a glimpse into the world of the Cape Winemakers Guild.
And with the 2026 Cape Winemakers Guild Auction drawing closer, it was also a taste of what’s still to come.

Thank you, Johannesburg, for joining us, raising a glass and sharing in the story.
Next stop: the Auction.

At first glance, it's a glass of wine.

But behind every Cape Winemakers Guild Auction wine are years of dedication, countless decisions in the vineyard and cellar, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
These aren't wines made for volume. They're crafted in incredibly limited quantities, making the Auction one of the only opportunities to experience and own them.
When you raise a glass, you're tasting far more than the vintage.
You're tasting the people, the place, the passion, and the pursuit of perfection.

Join us at the 2026 Cape Winemakers Guild Auction and experience wines that become part of South African wine history.
