🍻🚨 BELL BIG BITE GATSBY CHALLENGE UPDATE: ROBERTO vs THE GATSBY 🚨🍻

Roberto stepped up to the plate, full of confidence and big talk.

The Gatsby responded by absolutely ignoring him and carrying on with its evening 😂

Now, we've seen challengers put up a fight before. We've seen sweat, determination, and heroic last stands.

What we witnessed from Roberto was more like a man arriving at a boxing match and discovering his opponent was a freight train 🚂💥

Somewhere around the halfway mark, Roberto's enthusiasm packed its bags, called an Uber, and went home.

The Gatsby, meanwhile, was sitting there looking fresh as ever, like:

🥖 "Is that all you've got?"

To his credit, Roberto gave it a go. More than most can say. It takes a brave man to take on the beast. But when the dust settled, the score was:

🏆 Gatsby: 1
😵 Roberto: Very much not 1

The challenge remains completely undefeated.

Not the hungry guys.
Not the rugby guys.
Not the gym guys.
Not the guys who say, "Bru, I haven't eaten all day."

And now...

Not Roberto either.

At this stage we're starting to suspect this Gatsby was assembled by engineers rather than chefs.

So come on then...

MARIO TAKES ON THE BELL BIG BITE GATSBY CHALLENGE 🙀

Returning challenge veteran Mario marched into Ye Olde Bell with confidence, determination, and all round grit 😏

Now, for those who don't know, this is the same Mario who previously conquered our Bell Big Bite Burger Challenge. A true champion. A warrior. A man who once looked a mountain of food in the eye and said, "Is that all you've got?"

Unfortunately, our Gatsby heard about that and took it personally.

To be fair, Mario has been busy lately... he only went and became a father! 👶🎉 Massive congratulations on the new baby, Mario. Although judging by this performance, it seems the little one has already been stealing all his eating powers and sleep 😂

After a valiant effort, plenty of chewing, a few thousand calories, and what appeared to be some deep soul-searching halfway through the challenge, Mario finally admitted defeat.

The Gatsby remains undefeated. 🥖👑

In fact...

🚨 NOBODY HAS EVER FINISHED THE BELL BIG BITE GATSBY CHALLENGE. 🚨

Not the rugby players.
Not the gym bros.
Not the "I can eat anything" crowd.
And now... not even Mario.

At this point we're starting to wonder if the challenge is actually food or some kind of medieval punishment 🤔

So who's next?

Dearest Gentle Reader
The month of May has departed and moved swiftly into June....can you believe that we are halfway to Christmas again?

Returning to the current or very near history....

We launched our very own Gatsby challenge and even though we had a rumble from the crowds as to if infact it is legitimate.....I can assure you it meets all the criteria....according to Wikipedia at least. Jaco battled the beast for 25 minutes but had to throw in the towel and admit defeat. This writer would however like to point out that this challenge is not for the fainthearted and I have it in the loop that he will once again put his money where his mouth is and take on this beast.....this first Sunday cometh. Maybe the most recent blue moon will count in his favor.....

Our 2nd comedy night was a blast as always....too many laughs made for a painful stomach the day after. Ben Helme stole the prize for the best amateur comedian on his brief visit from a country far far away.

Bingo was once again enjoyed by all but sadly it was our last for a while.....tedious paperwork that this writer knows nothing about but will gladly inform you once the powers of the papers settle.

Birthdays were celebrated in true style by all patrons....even those from the next town over.

Our monthly quiznight was hosted by Big G and made for a splendid quizical night enjoyed by all

The one and only guitar maestro Mr Craig Vee Craig Vee himself graced us with a stellar performance which left us all in awe 😜 humming good old tunes like whiskey and rye......

Getting away from myself again....We also had the kingdom of Windhoek bestow a grand prize on sir Ashley for supporting their specific keg with such enthusiasm 😀 well done Ashley Cornelius 👏

From the kitchen the feast rolled out daily with great tempo and this writer has it on good authority that a few patrons belt buckles might need some adjustment soon.... Feed Me Val

And on that pleasent note I bid thee fairwell
