Drawing inspiration from legends like Fleetwood Mac and James Brown, to modern trailblazers like Alt-J and Gary Clark Jr., DreamEATER’s sound has been described as a fresh take on the nostalgic: a sound that can get people grooving back to a time when bellbottom jeans and mutton-chop sideburns were the order of the day.

Kai Scott is a South African singer-songwriter based in Cape Town. His unique songwriting style - influenced by writers like Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and Syd Barrett as well as composers like Hailu Mergia and John Fahey - has attracted the attention of those who have encountered it at various shows around Cape Town and at festivals like Up The Creek.

Mthimkhulu Stuurman is a South African based Trombonist with over 4 years’ experience in African Spiritual Music. He is the founding member and leader of Umuthiomkhulu Ensemble. He was influenced by Dr Johnny Mekoa who introduced him to Jazz Music and was later inspired by Malcolm Jiyane.

Kirsten Skippers is a Capetonian pianist and composer. She studied jazz performance at The South African College of Music under Dr Andrew Lilley and has since shared the stage with several known musicians.

Skippers’ music is a celebration of her ethnicity and heritage and she is widely regarded as one of the emerging young South African musicians and composers. She presents a new project entitled ‘Briewe aan nommer 3 Drury Court’ which is a tribute to her heritage.
