JOTS is going live. 🎷📺

We’ve been testing Facebook Live at our last couple of events, and going forward our goal is to make live streaming a regular part of JOTS.

That means if you can’t make it to a jam in person, you can still tune in right here on Facebook and catch the music live.

We’re still fine-tuning the technical side, but we’re excited to make JOTS more accessible to everyone.

Our next Facebook Live stream is planned for Friday, September 18.

2027 is going to be a special year for JOTS. 🎷

Next year marks 20 years of Jazz on the Square, and we’ve started working on some ideas to celebrate it in a bigger way.

There are still a lot of pieces to put together, so we’re not ready to share the details just yet.

But we can say this:

We’re thinking BIG!

Our next JOTS jam is coming up Friday, September 18. 🎷

Join us for another evening of live jazz, local musicians, and plenty of chances to sit in and play.

The Loft at Ethereal
Woodstock, Illinois

Musicians of all ages and experience levels are welcome to sit in. Whether you’re a seasoned player or still building confidence, JOTS is about giving musicians a place to play, learn, and connect.

Everyone is welcome, whether you come to play or just come to listen.

Suggested contribution: $10–$20

We’ve brought the Jazz on the Square YouTube channel back to life. 🎷

Going forward, we’ll be posting full videos from our JOTS jam sessions there so you can catch a performance you missed or revisit one you enjoyed.

Our July and August jams are already up, with more to come.

Jazz on the Square recently received an anonymous $1,000 donation.

To whoever made that gift: thank you.

JOTS is a nonprofit organization, and support like this helps us keep these events going, support musicians, cover equipment and operating costs, and continue bringing live jazz to the community.

It also reminded us that people really do care about keeping this music alive in Woodstock.

Whether someone contributes $10 at the door, $20 online, $100, or something extraordinary like this, every gift helps.

We’re incredibly grateful.

A little throwback to our first JOTS jam at The Loft at Ethereal back in May. 🎷

We really can’t say enough about how much we appreciate Ethereal opening this beautiful space to Jazz on the Square.

The Loft has given JOTS a warm, welcoming place where musicians can play, people can gather, and live jazz can be part of the Woodstock community in a very special setting.

A sincere thank-you to everyone at Ethereal for supporting JOTS and helping make evenings like this possible. We’re grateful for the partnership and looking forward to many more. 🎶

🎤 We love it when a vocalist steps up at JOTS!

We had the pleasure of hearing some terrific vocals at last night’s jam, and it added a whole different energy to the evening.

We don’t get as many singers as instrumentalists, and we’d love to see more of you join us. If you sing jazz standards, grab a tune, bring your chart if you have one, and come sit in with the band.

Our apologies to everyone who tried to watch last night's Jazz on the Square jam on Facebook Live. We had a technical issue with the live stream, and unfortunately only a few seconds made it to Facebook.

The good news is that we recorded the entire evening! 🎶
