Local Eatery and Pub is a farm to table driven restaurant focusing on families, but offering options for the more adventurous diners. Opened in February of 2011 by Derek Means and Craig Baker, we feature hand-crafted, freshly made artisan foods, locally crafted ales and cocktails, using all-natural and organic ingredients when available. Supportling local farmers helps build a vibrant local economy as well as minimizes our environmental foot-print. Using local farms, we are able to travel to the farms, interact with the families, and ensure that the farming practices demonstrate respect for the land and the animals. Continuing to grow these relationships will ultimately help build a dynamic local community with its own food culture. Our mission is to be a socially and environmentally responsible business in an eco-friendly environment serving healthy regional, great tasting, fresh foods that are grown, raised and produced by local artisans. We have high standards and our goal is to sell the highest quality products we possibly can at a value competitive price offering. We define these standards by evaluating all of our ingredients for freshness, safety, nutritive value and appearance. The Local is in the process of obtaining our certification for being a “Green” restaurant from the Green Restaurant Association.
