Hey West Rutland! Let me introduce myself!
My name is Andy Doaner, and I'm excited to announce that I'll be taking over the longtime local establishment formerly known as The Tavern, soon to become Andy's Westside Tavern! (In the next few weeks)
For those who don't know me, I also own The Hilltop Tavern in Pittsford and Amateur's Sports Bar in Brandon. My wife is a fellow small-business owner, operating Mae's Place and Mae's Mobile Catering. We're also proud parents to our 15-year-old daughter.
Family, friends, and community have always been a big part of our lives, and I believe those same values are what make a great hometown bar.
I've always felt that a good tavern is about more than just cold drinks. It's about the people who walk through the door, the friendships made along the way, and having a place where you can pull up a stool, relax, and feel right at home.
That's the kind of place I want Andy's Westside Tavern to be.
I know The Tavern has been part of West Rutland for many years, and I respect the history and memories that come with it. My goal is to build on those roots, give the place a fresh start, and create a welcoming neighborhood gathering spot that this community can be proud to call its own.
We're planning a laid-back, comfortable atmosphere with a small pub-style food menu, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, pool, darts, and TVs for catching your favorite sporting events. We'll also be offering rip tickets benefiting nonprofit organizations, because I believe local businesses should give back to the communities that support them.
Nothing fancy. Nothing pretentious. Just good people, cold drinks, and a place where everybody feels welcome.
We'll be open 7 days a week, and whether you're a longtime Tavern regular, a West Rutland local, or someone just passing through, I hope you'll stop in, introduce yourself, and give us a chance to earn your business.
I'm looking forward to meeting new faces, seeing some familiar ones, and becoming part of the West Rutland community.
