Hi Everyone! Happy sunny Thursday! 🌞
There are few special things happening this week... Father's Day is this Sunday and we will be open as usual... Jadon will be back from his trip to Tuscany, and is reluctantly returning to work this Saturday. 😆 Be sure to come see him while you can though, because unfortunately he won't be here that often after his new hospital job starts on the 22nd... This Friday is Juneteenth as well as Steve's birthday, so feel free to come have some cake with us! 🥳🎂🎈
And the most special thing this week to mention is Stephanie's 100-day memorial ceremony which is taking place this Saturday in Aberdeen at her mother's house. Please contact her brother Eric Lim for directions and info if you would like to attend. Their family is welcoming all who loved Steph. 🤍
We will be opening at 4:00 instead of 2:00 this Saturday.

📣 Now for an unpleasant matter: We know we have two of the coolest bathrooms in the city here at THD, 😉 but unfortunately we've noticed an increase in guests helping themselves to pictures and other decorations from there. ☹️ Not cool! Everything in there is intended for guests to enjoy here...not to be taken to enjoy elsewhere. If someone liked something that much, if they were to just ask, I would have been glad to make a copy for them... heck I'd even frame it for them if they wanted. Anyway... thieves suck. 🫤

Hi there! I was gone again last weekend on a short trip to visit my best friend and celebrate Prince week in Minneapolis, but I got back this week with no more vacations scheduled until maybe later this year, so you're stuck with me for a while. 🙂 Steve will get a well-deserved vacation at the end of July. Hopefully we'll figure out a way to take a vacation together next year. 🤞🏽

Thanks to our friend Cheri bringing it to my attention, I fixed a couple of glitches on our website, although it did take me a while because I'm not very techy. 😁

🎂 Happy belated birthday to our cook, Bonny! She's back to work today, so let's celebrate her. 🎉 Thanks for all you do and for being you. 💌

🗓 We will be participating again this summer in Kwabi Amoah-Forson's All Youth Can Eat program starting on July 1st. More details to follow soon. This time we're focusing on serving the college students. We wish we could include both age groups like we did last year, but due to our limited space and some staffing challenges, we will not be able to this time.

Hello, Everybody! How is this year almost halfway over already? Summer is almost here! 🌞

June is Pride Month, so we'll be bringing back our rainbow drink soon. 🏳️‍🌈 It's also National Ocean & Environment Month, National Men's Health Month, National Immigrant Heritage Month, Caribbean-American Heritage Month, and National PTSD Awareness Month among many other things. Juneteenth, Fathers Day, and Steve's birthday are this month as well. 🎉

Today I noticed that Stephanie's Celebration of Life slideshow has now had 998 views! I'm sure it will reach way beyond 1000. It shows how loved and missed she is, and she always will be. ❤️‍🩹 It's so hard to believe that today marks 100 days since her passing. 🪽 The void is still felt so deeply. Knowing her made life better. She was one of a kind, and we were all blessed to know her.

Unfortunately it has been brought to our attention yet again that some rumor control may be necessary. We have survived prior rumors of getting bought out, closing, moving, and so on... but here we go again with more. Telling a lie over and over again does not make something reality, and the reality is Steve and I are the only owners of the Thirsty Hound Drinkery. We are not affiliated whatsoever with any other restaurants or bars. It's easy enough to confirm that information online, so I'm not sure how so many people have been misinformed, but onwards and upwards. I believe what you focus on grows, so I refuse to focus on rumors and negativity. We need more of the opposite... positivity and love... building people up instead of trying to tear them down. The loss of Stephanie was yet again another reminder of how short life is. Why waste any of it being negative or hateful? Thank you Thirsty Hounders for your continued support.

Happy Friday, you guys! I returned from my too short vacation on Tuesday and have been trying to get caught up on things. My stepdaughter Madison and I had a great time packing in as much fun in 3 days as we could in Vegas. It was a long overdue gift to her (and myself 🤗). The highlights...seeing the No Doubt concert at the Sphere, attending the American Music Awards, and playing a little blackjack with Darius Rucker 😃, who is so friendly and kind. But the best thing was spending time with my Madison. It's been nice to be back and see you all though. You have 3 days left this week to enjoy one of your favorite specials. 😋

Updates: Unfortunately you might be seeing our bartender Jadon less often around here soon. 🙁 He'll be on vacation for part of June. He also received a job offer to be an ER tech, and he has interviews with fire depts as well. 🎉 We will always cheer him on as he pursues his goals, but we'll miss having him around here every day. Thank you Jadon for all that you bring to our team! We appreciate you! 💖

🐶😍🐕 We've had a couple of new additions to our Thirsty Hound family. Our Madison got a new puppy, a black German Shepherd named Luna a few weeks ago, and I forgot to mention Jadon's new dog he got earlier this year, a beagle named Howie.

🛋 I also forgot to mention our couch upgrade from a couple weeks ago. The lounge is even more comfy now thanks to our friend Shari, who gave us her couch before she moved. It was a perfect fit! We didn't have to do any heavy lifting either, thanks to Danny and Blue who hauled the old tattered one away and brought the new one here. 😊 Thank you so much Shari, Danny, and Blue. 💞

💐 Happy Mothers Day to all mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, adoptive mothers, foster mothers, and anyone else who has ever raised, helped raise, supported, loved, or guided someone like a mother would. It's also a day to remember the wonderful mothers who we have lost but whose love and lessons continue to live on, in and through us. ❤️‍🩹 Today can be a very difficult day for many, for a lot of different reasons, but I am hoping that despite the sadness you will also experience moments of peace, love, and joy as well. 💖
