One Last Tango 🇦🇷🐐

I remember it like it was yesterday.

Back in 2004, when I was living in Spain, my roommate Pablo—also from Argentina—told me about a kid everyone was talking about.

"They're saying he's going to be the next Maradona."

We didn't even have a TV at home back then, so he convinced me to go watch Barcelona play at a local bar.

From that day on, I followed his career and became a huge Barcelona fan.

Over the years, I have to admit, I was sometimes a little hard on Messi when he played for Argentina. Maybe many of us were. Maybe we couldn't process the fact that he had already won everything there was to win with Barcelona, yet nothing with the national team.

And yet, he carried us to a World Cup Final in Brazil against Germany.

Looking back now, maybe he was still that shy kid who never wanted the burden of being "the next Maradona."

Then came Qatar.

Something changed.

The confidence. The leadership. The team around him. The coach. The belief. The aura.

Everything aligned for him to make history.

And he delivered.

He completed football.

Now, even though he once said he probably wouldn't play in another World Cup because of his age, we're about to see him wear the Argentina shirt one more time.

One last tango.

Whether we win this World Cup or not, Messi has nothing left to prove to anyone.

What remains is the love he has shown for the game throughout his entire career. The dedication. The sacrifice. The joy he brought to millions.

The moment when a hero becomes a legend.
