The month’s results are in, and boy, were we in for some surprises!

🏆 Team WA: 4 wins

🌍 Team World: 0 wins

Last week’s final battle between Gorge producer Poberaj and Northern Italy & Slovenia was our closest matchup yet, with two of the three rounds coming down to just a handful of votes. In the end, Poberaj pulled out the win and helped Team WA finish the month undefeated!

If you’d asked us at the start of the month who we thought would win, we definitely would have had some uncertainty.

While we love our Washington wineries, we also love the classic wines that have inspired so many winemakers around the world. We expected close battles—and while some certainly were, a few matchups surprised us!

Thanks to everyone who joined us for tastings, cast votes, followed along on social, and cheered on the home team. What a fun way to celebrate Washington Wine Month! 🍷🌍

Tastings take place every Tuesday from 5-7 PM and are just $15/tasting with a $5 credit towards a bottle purchase from the lineup! 🍷

Sept 1st: Come explore the steep slopes of Croatia and Slavinia

Sept 8th: We’re heading to the edge of the world to sip on some incredible wines out of Patagonia!

Sept 15th: Head to Mexico with Vena Cava wines out of Valle de Guadalupe

Sept 22nd: We’re going across the Atlantic to explore distinctive, mineral-rich volcanic wines produced on the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, Italy!

We end the month rolling into our ‘The Strange, the Surprising & the Spectacular’ October series! Wine is full of strange traditions, mysterious transformations, and happy accidents. This month we’re celebrating the bottles that refuse to follow the rules as we explore Georgian wines!

Wine Club members your August release is here and we are loving these bottles to help you transition out of summer (sadly). 🥲☀️

August is always bittersweet to us. The tomatoes, corn, and peaches are in full swing but you can sense the days becoming shorter and the early mornings a bit cooler than expected. It’s not that we dislike fall, rather the opposite, but it’s a signal that sparks a want for things that bridge the gap in seasonality.

While we’ve been sipping on a lot tart, salty, and refreshing whites all summer, we’re now wanting something with a bit more weight, a bit more comfort, but we don’t want to go all in on cru Bordeaux or unctuous Chateauneuf just yet.

The solution? Summer reds. Some with a chill, some just cellar temp. Some with bubbles, some not. While one of this month’s selections falls into the “chillable red” category that we all love so much, these are all serious wines in their own right too.

Washington vs. The World 🏔️🌎 — The Final Round!

We’re closing out our August tasting series TONIGHT with Poberaj vs. Italy 🇮🇹 from 5–7 PM!

So, who is Poberaj? A Washington winery rooted in the Yakima Valley, Poberaj is all about showcasing the character of the region through thoughtfully made, site-driven wines. It’s a great example of what Washington can do—and tonight, we’re putting it up against the wines of one of the world’s most iconic wine countries.

🍷Why Italy? Because if you’re going to put Washington wines head-to-head with the world, you might as well take on one of the greats. Italy’s incredible diversity of grapes, regions, and winemaking traditions makes it the perfect benchmark—and a seriously fun matchup for Washington.

Round 2 of Washington -vs- The World goes to….WASHINGTON (with a little help from our PNW friends). ⛰️🍷

In the Mencia Madness match up, the PNW held strong with Conncinita’s Farms taking home the win with a majority of votes as peoples top choice vs its Spanish competitors!

We had such a blast having Bree Stock in house pouring all these incredible Mencias and still have quite a few on our shelves for you to take home!
