Native to the Americas, husk cherries are a relative of the tomato and tomatillo, hidden inside their own papery little lanterns.

Despite their incredible flavor, they remain relatively uncommon: the fruit ripens and falls individually, making harvesting labor-intensive and large-scale production difficult.

Their flavor lands somewhere between pineapple, mango and citrus, with hints of vanilla and just enough tomato-like acidity to keep them interesting. ✨
