The emails slow down, someone says “drinks?” and the answer is always yes.

By 3pm the doors are open, the light’s still pouring through the windows, and the first round is hitting the bar. Old friends, new coworkers, and regulars who’ve been here since day one, 17 years ago. Somewhere between the second cocktail and the last of the daylight, the workday officially ends.

The darkest hour, poured bright. 🌙 Midnight: gin, Cocchi Americano, Luxardo Bitter Bianco, makrut, lemon essence. A white Negroni for the in-between hours.

It's Negroni Week, the yearly celebration where bars around the world pour the classic Negroni and their own riffs on it, all in support of Slow Food and its work toward a more sustainable food and drink world. Every year, bartenders take the original trio of gin, Campari and sweet vermouth somewhere new. Ours trades the red for bitter bianco and turns the lights down low.

Mainstays of the Bay Area Americana scene for nearly a decade, Nashville Honeymoon has traversed country, rockabilly, bluegrass, and pop across four albums — writing songs that uplift the tangled mess of day-to-day life while digging into the universal themes of love and loss, often at the same time. Their latest album, Sidewinder, stays true to its title: grounded in classic country while edging into new sounds and stories that run through American pop music.

Sweet, saucy, sincere — that’s Nashville Honeymoon, and that’s exactly what filled our room Thursday night. Thank you to everyone who came out to listen. 🥃

Rickhouse has been a staple in the Financial District of San Francisco for over 17 years. The bar houses over 400 bottles on their backbar. A great spot for after work and cozy late night gatherings. Live music on Thursdays evenings ranges from singer-songwriter, folk, indie, bluegrass, and more. Happy Hour is Monday-Friday from 3-5pm. Have you been?

Rare Company is back tomorrow, Thursday, July 9, bringing their signature blend of bluegrass, folk, and Americana to the Financial District.

This Bay Area string band — dobro, mandolin, guitar, upright bass, and four-part harmonies — swings from stomping barn-burners to ballads that’ll stop you mid-pour. Their debut album Rare Company (Portobello Records, 2026) has packed rooms across SF, from The Plough and Stars to Blondie’s Bar and The Liberties.
