For the weekend of June 12th we will have 6 wines open to taste, 1 from each of 6 main French wine growing regions. We start in the Loire Valley with a Cheverny, then Burgundy for a really good Bourgogne Blanc before finishing the whites in Alsace with a 'kitchen sink' blend. Our first red is a Trousseau from Arbois in Jura, then a Gigondas and we finish with a 2019 Bordeaux. Taste all 6 for $25, individual pours are $4, $5 or $6, taxes included. The Gare du Vin is unchanged. The tasting bar will be open Thursday through Saturday from 3.30 to 7.30.

For the first weekend in June we are flipping last week's script and pouring 3 whites at $46 and over and 3 reds at $15 and under. We start like last week with a Sancerre, then a 1er Cru St Aubin and finish with a 91-point Napa Valley Chardonnay. The first red is a 90-point Pinot Noir from Australia, followed by the Wolftrap red from South Africa and we finish with a Monastrell from Spain. Taste all 6 for $30, individual pours are from $4 to $10, taxes included. The Wine Station has had a Raphet Gevrey Chambertin added. The tasting bar will be open Thursday through Saturday from 3.30 to 7.30.

For the last weekend in May we will have 3 white wines at $15 or under and 3 reds at $45 and over open to taste. We start with a Sancerre producers' Sauvignon Blanc, followed by the excellent Orvieto from Antinori's Campogrande property and finish with a blend from Gascony in France. Our first red is from Mount Etna in Sicily, then we have a 93-point Chateauneuf du Pape and we finish with a 95-point red blend from Sonoma. Taste all 6 fro $30, individual pours are from $4 to $9, taxes included. The Wine Station has had the 2023 De Montille St Aubin En Remilly added. The tasting bar will be open from 3.30 to 7.30 Thursday through Saturday.

For the weekend of May 15th we will have 6 high-scoring wines from the Southern Hemisphere open to taste. We start with a 94-point New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, follow that with a 92-point Argentine Chardonnay and a 93-point Australian Riesling, Our first red is also from New Zealand, a central Otago Pinot Noir and we finish with a pair of Malbecs scoring 94 and 95 points. Taste all 6 for $30, individual pours are from $4 to $8 and taxes are included. The tasting bar will be open from 3.30 to 7.30 Thursday through Saturday.

For the weekend of May 8th we will have 6 new arrivals open to taste. None of these wines, in any vintage has been on a tasting here. All 3 whites are from Italy, we start with a Brut Prosecco from Valdobbiadene, follow that with a 92-point Ribolla Gialla and finish with a Falanghina. Our first red is a Premier Cru Rully, that is followed by another Pinot Noir, this one a 95-point California beauty. The final red is also from California, also heavily discounted and is an old-school classic. Taste all 6 for $30, individual pours are from $4 to $8, taxes are included. The tasting bar will be open Thursday through Saturday from 3.30 to 7.30.

For the first weekend in May we will have 6 wines scoring between 91 and 93 points open to taste. We start with a 92-point South African Sauvignon Blanc, followed by a 93-point Chardonnay from California and round out the whites with a 91-point Alsace Riesling. The first red is a 92-point Chianti Classico, that is followed by a 93-point Barbaresco and we finish with a 92-point Bordeaux from the epic 2019 vintage. Taste all 6 for $30, individual pours are from $4 to $8. The Gare du Vin has had the 2021 Trediberri Berri Barolo added. The tasting bar will be open Thursday through Saturday from 3.30 to 7.30.

For the final weekend in April, we will have 6 French wines open to taste. We start at the mouth of the river Loire with a Muscadet Sevre et Maine sur Lie, follow that with a Chablis and then a lovely White Burgundy from a top producer. Our first red is also a Burgundy from the just landed 2024 vintage, next up a 92-point Rasteau and finishing with a 97-point Pauillac from the tremendous 2022 vintage. Taste all 6 for $30, individual pours are from $4 to $8, taxes are included. The Gare du Vin has had the Wine Spectator's 2025 Wine of the year added - try the 2022 Chateau Giscours for $15! The tasting bar will be open from 3.30 to 8.30 Thursday through Saturday.

We do not really have enough Greek wines to merit a full tasting, so I got a bit creative and included wines from some areas that the Greeks had 'visited'. We start in Provence with the 2025 By Ott Rosé, then to mainland Greece for 3 wines, a Malagousia, an Assyrtiko and a Xinomavro. Then off to Sicily for an Etna Rosso, before finishing up in the Bek'aa Valley in Lebanon for something from Chateau Musar. Taste all 6 for $25, individual pours are $4-$8, taxes included. The Gare du Vin is as you were, and the tasting bar will be open from 3.30 to7.30 Thursday through Saturday.

For the Easter Weekend we will have 6 Italian wines open to taste. We start with a Pinot Grigio from Friuli, then head west to the Veneto for a 92-point Soave Classico before heading west again to Piemonte for a 91-point Gavi. Our first red is back over to the far northeast of Italy for a 96-point Teroldego, then south for a pair of 93-point Tuscan wines to finish. Taste all 6 for $25, individual pours are $4 to $8, taxes included. The Gare du Vin is unchanged. The tasting bar is open Thursday through Saturday from 3.30 to 7.30.

This week we have some friends coming to town who attended UC Davis viticulture and enology programs, so we included their favorite wines, a wine made by a UC Davis graduate, and one of my own choice. We start with a superb Sancerre, then a 95-point Oregon Pinot Blanc, and we round out the chilled stuff with the just landed 2025 Fontsainte Rosé. Our first red is a great value, high elevation Malbec from Argentina, followed by a 92-point Napa Valley Merlot and we finish with a 93-point Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles. Taste all 6 for $30, individual pours are from $4 to $8, taxes included. The Gare du Vin has Ch Simone Rosé, Olivier Leflaive St Aubin en Remilly, Lionnet Cornas Terre Brulée and Contino Gran Riserva Rioja. The tasting bar will be open Thursday through Saturday from 3.30 to 7.30.
