Here’s a small bit of history in honor of national Margarita Day! More than one person is said to have developed the margarita. The first dated back to 1638 when a man named “Carlos "Danny" Herrera developed the drink at his Tijuana-area restaurant, Rancho La Gloria, around 1938. As the legend goes, Herrera dreamed up the cocktail for one of his customers, an aspiring actress named Marjorie King who was allergic to all hard alcohol other than tequila. To make the liquor more palatable to his fussy client, he combined the elements of a traditional tequila shot—a lick of salt and a wedge of lime—and turned them into a refreshing drink.” - from Smithsonian Magazine. This weeks featured tequila at Coastal Cantina is AMAN. Come in and celebrate this family’s amazing journey in perfecting this astonishing tequila with all of us at Coastal Cantina.

It all starts with the name. AMAN means safety, to believe (have faith), to trust, to stand firm. At the heart of the meaning is the idea of certainty, firmness, dependability, trustworthiness.
The bottle itself celebrates this unique tequila. It’s contemporary take on Mexican heritage, visually aligned with a premium feel and spirit it contains.

Rhomboidal geometric pattern and structures are alluding to traditional Mexican and Aztec historic artifacts, which feature similar geometry, but also evoke sharply pointed leaves of agave plants. Another analogy we were aiming to allude to are lavishly embroidered diamond patterns used in high-end interior and product design.
Straight from the owner-
“My name is Gerardo Madrigal and I am the founder and CEO of Aman Tequila.
My love for farming agaves began when my parents would save their meager resources to buy flights to visit our family in Mexico from East Los Angeles when we were kids. My parents could never afford to farm agaves as it was a heavy expense for blue collar workers….” —this is just the beginning!

An amazing tequila starts from the roots and the story behind AMAN is why we want you to join us in celebrating. We are all here for each other! ❤️.

Coastal Cantina is now featuring Eva Longoria’s new sipping tequila! Here’s a little intro from mashed.com - Casa Del Sol uses 100% Blue Weber agave sourced from rich clay soil in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. Unlike typical tequilas aged in whiskey barrels, this lux tequila is aged in Cognac barrels handcrafted with French Limousin Oak, which provides a distinctive flavor and aroma. "When creating Casa Del Sol, we wanted to deliver a brand that was set apart from the rest. From the liquid to the legacy, we took the time to develop an ultra-premium tequila focusing on authenticity and a distinct flavor profile," Longoria, who co-founded the brand, shared.
