🥃 Happy Bourbon Heritage Month!

It wouldn’t be fitting to spend every Tuesday in September talking bourbon without highlighting one we are especially proud of — our partnership with Sazerac and our very own Olde Brick House 1792 Bourbon Barrel Pick.

A little bourbon history for you: 1792 Bourbon gets its name from the year Kentucky officially became a state, paying tribute to the state that has become synonymous with bourbon. It is produced at Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky, a distillery with roots dating back to 1879.

Through our partnership with Sazerac and its Barrel Select program, Olde Brick House had the opportunity to select a 1792 Bourbon specifically for our restaurants. And that is exactly why this program felt like such a great fit for Olde Brick House Restaurant & Pub. We love bourbon. We love the history behind it. And we love being able to give our guests an experience that has a story behind the glass.

Our 1792 Barrel Pick gives us something selected specifically for Olde Brick House — a bourbon we can pour neat, on the rocks, or showcase in one of our favorite classics, an Old Fashioned.

So, this Bourbon Heritage Month, raise a glass to a little Kentucky history, a great partnership with Sazerac, and a bourbon we're proud to pour at Olde Brick House.

This week, we are embracing our millennial cringe! Rawrrrr XD

Literally, we said it! Deal with the return of our delicious banger sandwich, topped with winey mushrooms, Swiss cheese, mustard sauce, and fried onions.

We can pickle that! The Dillmaker takes a classic boilermaker and gives it a briney twist. Modelo Especial paired with Texacraft Pickle Vodka and a salt rim, with a lime wedge.

We did a thing; we combined the refreshingly hazy Lupulin Hooey with Jameson, blackberry simple syrup, and lemon juice to make life hashtag awesomesauce!

🥃 September is National Bourbon Heritage Month! 🥃

And at Olde Brick House, we think that deserves a little celebrating.

Every Tuesday throughout September, we’ll be sharing something fun about bourbon — a little history, a little knowledge, and maybe a reason to order yourself a pour while you’re here. 😉

To kick things off, here are 2 bourbon facts for your Tuesday:

🥃 Fun Fact #1: Bourbon must be made with a grain mixture that is at least 51% corn, which helps give it that signature sweeter flavor.

🔥 Fun Fact #2: By law, bourbon must be aged in new, charred oak containers. That charred oak is a big part of where bourbon gets its beautiful color and flavors like vanilla, caramel, spice, and toasted oak.

When you think Olde Brick House, you probably think Irish Pub — and of course, we LOVE that.

But there’s a reason we like to call ourselves a Restaurant & Pub.

Yes, Guinness and Jameson are pretty much a must around here 😉 — but our menu goes well beyond the Irish traditional. From tacos and burgers to classic cocktails with a little history behind them, there’s always something different to try.

🍸 Take the Sidecar.
This classic cocktail dates back more than 100 years, with recipes appearing in cocktail books as early as 1922. Traditionally made with cognac, orange liqueur and fresh lemon, even the story behind its name is debated — one popular tale says it was named after a guest who arrived at the bar in the sidecar of a motorcycle.

🌮 And then there are our Nashville Tacos — a staff favorite!
Three flour tortillas filled with Nashville Hot crispy chicken, tomato, red onion, pickles, romaine and chipotle mayo.

A classic cocktail and Nashville Hot tacos at an Irish Restaurant & Pub? Yep. That’s kind of the point. 😉
