🍻 Beer History Meets 2026 🇺🇸

As part of America’s 250th birthday celebrations, the New York Public Library recently partnered with TALEA Beer Co. to recreate George Washington’s 1757 “Small Beer” recipe.

The original version reportedly featured notes of molasses, gingerbread, spice, and earthy hop bitterness - a flavor profile that made more sense in colonial America than on today’s tap lists.

TALEA also created a modern interpretation, Liberty Lager, with a cleaner malt profile and more approachable balance for today’s beer drinkers.

Which would you rather try? Original recipe, the modern Liberty Lager, or…. perhaps an LQBC West Coast Version? 🤔 That could be fun! 🍻
