Helicon Brewing is a 15 barrel production brewing facility and draft room located in Oakdale, PA right outside of Pittsburgh on the Panhandle Trail. Here are some FAQ to help:
Do you serve food?:
We do not not serve food, however, there are several excellent restaurants within walking distance of the brewery and some that also deliver right to the taproom. Please feel free to carry out and carry
in! Do you take reservations?:
Our 40 seat taproom is first come first serve seating and we are more than happy to serve you at the bar. What is your parking situation?:
We have our own parking lot and ample space. As we are located right off the Panhandle Trail, we even have bike racks for your cycling convenience. Where does the name Helicon come from?:
Our name comes from the first paragraph of the first page of the book The History of Oakdale Borough:
"Although the official history of Oakdale began in 1892, the real history of the town began earlier than that. The land on which Oakdale is situated was originally part of a 400 acre tract of land which the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania granted to Judge Hugh Henry Brackenridge on April 11, 1778. In the original warrant, the name given to this land is called Mt. Helicon, a name from Greek mythology, the sacred home of the Muses." Finishing off the name is our Helicon logo which is comprised of a Greek harp with a barley stem in through middle.
