Helicon Brewing is a 15 barrel production brewing facility and draft room located in Oakdale, PA right outside of Pittsburgh on the Panhandle Trail. Here are some FAQ to help:

Do you serve food?:

We do not not serve food, however, there are several excellent restaurants within walking distance of the brewery and some that also deliver right to the taproom. Please feel free to carry out and carry in! Do you take reservations?:

Our 40 seat taproom is first come first serve seating and we are more than happy to serve you at the bar. What is your parking situation?:

We have our own parking lot and ample space. As we are located right off the Panhandle Trail, we even have bike racks for your cycling convenience. Where does the name Helicon come from?:

Our name comes from the first paragraph of the first page of the book The History of Oakdale Borough:

"Although the official history of Oakdale began in 1892, the real history of the town began earlier than that. The land on which Oakdale is situated was originally part of a 400 acre tract of land which the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania granted to Judge Hugh Henry Brackenridge on April 11, 1778. In the original warrant, the name given to this land is called Mt. Helicon, a name from Greek mythology, the sacred home of the Muses." Finishing off the name is our Helicon logo which is comprised of a Greek harp with a barley stem in through middle.

Tonight is the first Friday night of Pittsburgh Pinball League Season 52 at the brewery!

The league meets every Friday at different great pinball locations in and around the city, with additional weekly events on Thursdays and Sundays. Everyone is welcome to come check it out!

Our food truck lineup this weekend is absolutely fantastic: 2.5greeks Friday, 5-8; HibachiLou412 Saturday, 2-7; and Two Gunz BBQ Sunday, noon-8.

We are bringing back our Steelers drink specials this season!

This week, enjoy $2 off Helles Lager drafts during the Steelers game. For future games, the special will switch to Oktoberfest drafts while supplies last. (Steelers specials do not combine with Happy Hour or other discounts.)

And finally, we found a puzzle piece on the brewery floor. We understand the frustration of getting a puzzle almost finished and then realizing a piece is missing. If you've lost a puzzle piece, please message us and we'll send you a picture!

Today we tapped our Hefeweizen, a German-style ale with a distinctive yeast character and 6.0% abv (pictured right). It is quite different from our last release, Tropical Tripel, a Belgian-style Tripel with orange zest and 10.2% abv (pictured left).

This week we tapped our Barrel & Flow Fest collaboration brew: It's a Belgian-style Tripel loaded with orange zest. It clocks in at a whopping 10.2% abv. It is our highest abv brew to date and first to break double digits. Please enjoy responsibly. 🍻

This collaboration was done with Mack Brewing Co. over in Philly--definitely check out them out if you get a chance!!

Due to vacation schedules, the May Brewery Bingo event was pushed back a week to this coming Sunday, June 7th at 12:30pm! Guest caller Mayor Steve always packs the house!

Free to play and prizes for participation! $5 Bloody Marys along with happy hour draft beers to enjoy as well. Milos Mediterranean food truck will be here starting at noon!

Today we tapped our Session Hazy IPA! This one is made with LUPOMAX - Krush and Galaxy hops and is already a hit with our guests.

We will be open regular hours 11am-10pm on Memorial Day, 5/25.

The food truck lineup this weekend is absolutely excellent--Friday Streets on the Fly is back, Saturday is Two Gunz BBQ, and Sunday is Hummus Pittsburgh.
