Can you believe that Construction Junction has been hosting the The Steel City Big Pour for 11 years? Every single year we have attended as a food sponsor sharing two of our menu favorites. We were able to sample some of the newest and rare brews being made in our region, met our up-and-coming brewers who have since opened and grown into top notch breweries of all sizes! We also have built comradery with other local restauranteurs, chefs and service staff and gotten to be a part of the CJ family itself.
When the SCBP was first designed, a few folks came together, over beers of course, to design a better fest. In the early days of fests, food was minimal or missing, beer was not as diverse, and social media technology was just in the very earliest stages. The landscape has changed so much in Pittsburgh for food and beer in the past decade, and this festival has been able to capture the growth and change in one afternoon each SeptemBEER. Bocktown will be there in spirit this year, as we refocus our brand, but we also will be there as people, soaking in the changes, and the nuances of the industry.
