Light, bright, and refreshing, this wine is absolutely perfect for today’s 85-degree weather.

After a brief break from our Wine Wednesday video series to feature some of our favorite women in wine pours, we’re back!

Today, we’re transporting you to Burgundy - specifically, white Burgundy. We’re talking about a Bourgogne Blanc, an approachable Chardonnay. This wine is tart, crisp, and refreshing, with notes of green apple, white fruit, and peach.

Vincent Girardin is one of the most renowned producers in the region, and there’s a ton of history in this bottle. Perfect to enjoy on a sunny day like today.

3 new white wines have been added to our menu just in time for the warmer weather!

Chardonnay Domaine Louis Michel & Fils, Chablis, France, 2023
This historic estate is a benchmark producer in Chablis, known for its classic, un-oaked style. The wine shows bright citrus, green apple, and wet stone/flint, with high acidity and a clean, precise finish. Excellent with seafood, Iberico de Bellota, creamy cheeses like Brie and Burrata, and vegetable-forward dishes like artichokes. Its acidity and minerality cut through richness beautifully.

Viura, Plácet de Valtomelloso, Rioja, Spain
This is a high-end white Rioja made from Viura (Macabeo), known for its elegance and texture. The brief skin contact adds subtle structure and aromatic depth. Flavor profile includes ripe pear, white peach, subtle tropical fruit, white flowers, and herbal notes, supported by a creamy texture and a long, mineral-driven finish. Works well with richer fish, poultry, or creamy pastas.

Sauvignon Blanc, Chatelain, Les Chaillous Silex, Pouilly-Fume, France, 2024
Pouilly-Fumé is one of the most distinctive expressions of Sauvignon Blanc, and this cuvée comes from “Les Chailloux”, a vineyard name meaning “warm stones,” often referring to flint soils. The wine is known for its intense minerality and smoky, flinty (“gunflint”) character, which is a hallmark of top Pouilly-Fumé wines. The nose is typically expressive, with citrus, green herbs, and subtle smoky notes, while the palate is crisp, vibrant, and structured with a saline edge.

Last but certainly not least, we have our final women in wine feature!

The woman: Irini Daskalaki
Irini is the owner and head winemaker of Silva Daskalaki in Crete. She has been a driving force in shifting Cretan wine towards organic and biodynamic farming. She works side-by-side with her daughter, Xaroula, making this a true multi-generational female team. She represents the balance between the “old ways” of tradition and the “new ways” of clean, natural farming.

The wine: Week 3: Kotsifali/Liatiko, “Vorinos Red”, Silva Daskalaki, Crete, Greece, 2017
A blend of 50% Kotsifali (body/spice) and 50% Liatiko (perfume/red fruit). Aged 8 months in oak, it’s warm and soulful. Expect aromas of cinnamon, clove, dried herbs, and leather, with soft red cherry fruit. It’s warm, spicy, and earthy—perfect for anyone who loves Pinot Noir or Cote DU Rhône blends.
