🫖 HIGH TEA MEETS THE GAELTACHT — IN WOODLAWN ☘️

On Sunday, September 13, we’re turning The Burren Tearoom into a little piece of the Gaeltacht for the afternoon.

Join us for a full traditional-style High Tea for just $20 per person — a pot of tea, finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with preserves & cream, cakes, pastries and sweets — served alongside plenty of chances to hear, practice and speak Gaeilge.

Complete beginner? Fluent speaker? Somewhere in the middle? Tá fáilte romhat. Come in, have some tea, make a few mistakes and give the cúpla focal a go.

☘️ TWO SEATINGS

12 PM — High Tea + Gaeilge for the Irish Language Mass
Along with tea, we’ll go through some common Irish responses and phrases ahead of the AOH Irish Language Mass at St. Barnabas at 2:30 PM. The Burren is not affiliated with the Mass — we just think it’s a great excuse to get people speaking and hearing some Irish beforehand.

4 PM — High Tea + Pop-Up Gaeltacht
Tea, conversation and an informal afternoon of Gaeilge. Meet other speakers and learners, practice ordering in Irish, and help us turn the Tearoom into a tiny Bronx Gaeltacht.

The Burren Public House & Tearoom is looking for a bartender for 2–3 shifts a week, primarily daytime shifts.

Experience is great, but personality and attitude matter more. We’re happy to train the right person.

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Friendly and comfortable with people
• Willing to learn
• A genuine team player

We take the pub seriously without taking ourselves too seriously. Live music, arts, culture, sport, good food, great regulars and something different happening almost every day. It’s unquestionably the best—and definitely the most interesting—pub to work at in The Bronx.
