Today wraps the 5th week of the Access to Justice (ATJ) Developing Leadership Intern program, a unique 6 week program where four rising 2L’s, one from each of Louisiana’s four law schools, spend their time working with various civil legal aid organizations and judges in the New Orleans and Baton Rouge area. Each intern is sponsored by an organization with a commitment to access to justice. This year’s sponsors are Butler Snow, Entergy, the LSBA’s Civil Law & Litigation Section, and the New Orleans Center for Economic Opportunity.

On Tuesday, June 2, Butler Snow hosted an LA.FreeLegalAnswers.org clinic with its summer clerks and Access to Justice (ATJ) intern. During the clinic, attorneys collaborated with the law clerks and intern to answer questions submitted through the site.
LA.FreeLegalAnswers.org is an online pro bono program created by the ABA that allows low-income residents to submit civil legal questions and receive assistance from volunteer attorneys. This summer marked the fourth year that Butler Snow has hosted an LA.FreeLegalAnswers.org clinic.
