Corcreechy - an original song written by Sean Turk McNamara. Following Dermot Lyons as he returns to his childhood home in Corcreechy, County Down more than sixty years after emigrating to Liverpool. Traveling the roads and fields of his youth, Dermot revisits memories of family, rural life, and a home once filled with familiar voices.
Now, with those he loved gone, Dermot is the last one left to remember—and to tell the story of how it used to be.
Corcreechy is a poignant song about home, family, emigration, and the bittersweet weight of remembrance.
Now Dermot stands as the last keeper of those memories, carrying within him the voices of the departed and the story of a world that has faded but not disappeared.

A Nashville Songwriter’s Unforgettable Moment with Irish Folk Legend Christy Moore

Nashville-based singer-songwriter Sean “Turk” McNamara experienced a career moment he’ll never forget when he had the honor of performing his original song, “Gypsy Wind,” for legendary Irish singer-songwriter Christy Moore backstage following one of Christy’s shows.

For Sean, whose songwriting is deeply influenced by both his Nashville roots and Irish musical heritage, the opportunity to sit down with one of Ireland’s most revered artists and share an original song was something truly special.

What began as a song written in Nashville became an unforgettable meeting of two songwriting traditions — Nashville and Ireland — with nothing more than a guitar, a song, and one of Irish folk music’s most legendary voices listening. folk legend
