Ransom's Steakhouse & Saloon We are a family owned and operated full service restaurant. We routinely host large corporate events and rehearsal dinners, ranging in size from 15 to 200+.

We raise our own Wagyu beef locally and make our food to order, from scratch We offer a full bar, indoor/bar/patio/outside dining options Ransom’s Steakhouse & Saloon is family owned and operated; located in the historic town of Montgomery, Texas. We are a full service, family friendly restaurant that specializes in homegrown American Wagyu steaks and Texas favorites - like Chicken Fried Steak and Mayhaw Glazed Salmon. Ransom’s Steakhouse offers a unique Texas ambiance with live (acoustic) music every Friday and Saturday, plus a full bar with two large outdoor patios and a sand pit for our 6yr and under guests. Weekdays (excluding holidays), we offer a lunch menu with meals starting at $9.99 (including your choice of 2 sides). Evening specials vary weekly but often include wine and special steaks from our own homegrown cattle. All of our food is cooked to order, using fresh, high quality ingredients. So grab the family and join us - we are open 7 days a week!

Since the internet is losing its mind over Texas Roadhouse coming to Montgomery, we wanted to set the record straight....

This is old news for us. In fact, as the owners of Ransom's AND the developers of Buffalo Springs, we sold the land knowing Texas Roadhouse was highly likely several years ago.

We could have specifically prohibited it but what would that achieve? It's a free market - if Texas Roadhouse wants to come to Montgomery, they are coming. Whether it's across the street, down the road or near us. The tax revenue this type of business generates provides amazing opportunities for a city of Montgomery's size.

If it's not a Texas Roadhouse, it could/will be any number of similar chain restaurants as our community grows. While we choose "mom and pop" businesses wherever we go, not everyone has that preference. Many people prefer chains. Many people will only eat at TR and will complain about anything different. Many people will always choose Ransom's over a chain and others will frequent both. The number of people that a chain restaurant, such as Texas Roadhouse, attracts will likely help all businesses in the area. The Mexican restaurants within 5 miles are a great example.

Chains undoubtedly have different buying power and operate in ways "mom and pops" can't. We will continue to create ways to differentiate ourselves as a local, family owned and operated restaurant.... like raising our beef locally (right behind Kroger/Home Depot) and making all our dishes to order, hosting rehearsals, corporate events and fundraisers and being actively involved in our community.

Within the next two years, 1000's of single family homes are coming to Montgomery. We can't stop it but we can all work together to keep our community what makes it great.
The last 14 years have taught us the restaurant industry isn't for the faint of heart but we will continue to serve our community, support our kids and look forward to seeing our friends, family and neighbors, new and old, in the years to come.
