Chuchito Valdés carries forward Cuba’s legendary piano tradition as the son of Chucho Valdés and grandson of Bebo Valdés. A master of Latin jazz, he blends Caribbean rhythms and jazz into an energetic, expressive sound. The former pianist of Irakere, he has performed worldwide across major festivals and venues.

Inspired by his studies with Ronnie Cuber and his work on the recent Reflectory: The Life and Music of Pepper Adams biography, Mike Pauers brings together the hard-bop spirit of Pepper Adams and Cuber with the energy of Latin jazz. Joined by members of De La Buena, the group blends rich harmonies and Afro-Caribbean rhythms in a performance that will appeal to jazz fans and casual listeners alike.

Milwaukee baritone saxophonist Mike Pauers studied saxophone and clarinet with legendary educator Joe Aaron, with additional instruction from Curt Hanrahan and Ronnie Cuber. In addition to leading his own projects, he performs regularly with De La Buena.

Steve Peplin is a guitarist and composer based in Helenville, Wisconsin. He has recorded and performed with artists including Art Davis, Mel Rhyne, the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Yellow Ostrich, War, Howard Levy, and many others.

Neil Davis is a Milwaukee jazz guitarist, faculty member in the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra jazz studies program, and co-founder of West End Conservatory. He also helped found Milwaukee Jazz Vision. In addition to performing throughout Milwaukee and accompanying the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee dance department, Davis leads his own quartet and performs in the Davis/Peplin Duo and Black Cow Duo, a Steely Dan review project.
