We love and honor all Military, Veterans and First Responders.
But today we're Simply honoring a local customer, friend, and Hero that's a Retired Firefighter from New York City who served along side his team on 911. Al Benjamin lost 11 of his fellow firefighters from the elite FDNY Rescue Company 1 on September 11, 2001. Benjamin was originally scheduled to work a 24-hour shift on the day of the attacks but had swapped shifts with another firefighter. Tragically, that colleague worked in his place and was killed, alongside 10 other members from their tight-knit Rescue 1 house. Following the devastating loss of his team members, Benjamin became the most senior firefighter at Rescue 1 and helped guide the house through its recovery.
